hello

Hi,

My name is cheri. I am an alcoholic and have been sober 4 years. My husband has been sober 15 years. Recently I discovered some things about my husband that really disturb me, and my sponsor told me to start going to alanon, that I needed to learn what was mine and what wasn't. I have been walking on eggshells for the past few months, thinking that I have to make up for my drinking, and I think he took advantage of that.I don't' know what I'm going to do yet, but I really need to learn how to detach from all this.

I guess I'm just kind of reaching out right now, looking for people that understand and care.

Love,cheri

Hi Cheri,

Welcome to the site. You do mention that you have a sponsor, so I will assume that she/he is from AA. I know several couples that are dual winners doing both AA and Al-anon. If you have been through AA then you know what you have to do. Get to Al-anon meetings, find a sponsor and work the steps. Being in Al-anon will give you new insight and new tools for living with an alcoholic.

There are Alanon meetings on this site at the following link:

or if you want f2f meetings go to the Alanon meetings search at their website:

Good luck on the journey
