I sent the note

I had posted on here about sending a note to my sister-in-law informing her that I had left her brother.

I read the responses, talked to my therapist and prayed on it.

I wanted to tell his family because I thought they should know.

So I sent my closest sister-in-law a note informing her that I had left her brother a few weeks ago, I just could not live like that anymore. I did not give any specifics or mention his alcoholism.

While Saturday while I was having lunch on the beach in Galveston with my sister, my sister in law called me (I had supplied my cell #). She said that she got my note and was crying and sad for us.

I told her that I had my family’s support and thought her brother should have the same.

She said that they did not know how I lived with her brother for all those 14 years.

She said that their family called me “Saint Megan”

She said that her brother could be very “difficult” but that she was very happy for me and proud and supportive.

Then we talked a little bit about both sides of our families and I went back to lunch with my sister, sharing our lives such as they are today and my sister-in-law, I am sure, made some calls
