My son will be going to court, he really needs to get on with his life, whatever the outcome will be.
I am posting because I am feeling so nervous, and I know that it will calm me to express what I am feeling this morning.
Last night I went to my therapy, and when I came home there were three messages on my answering machine from my son.
Everything this morning is so confusing, he told me that we would meet with his lawyer very early at the restaurant before he goes to court. When I asked which one, he wasn't sure, and last night the name he gave me was wrong. This morning he game me another number, an address for another restaurant, and I called to get the directions. When I told him, he said, the place I had called was next to the place where we were going. The place I had called, sold condoms in retrospect it is very funny, yet not at the moment it happened.
It is now 11:45A.M and I am still waiting to go and pick him up. I hate the fact that he takes so many drugs, and he is all confused, it makes me feel very angry and it is not always easy to just let go.
During my therapy I was told that I am sometimes taking on the role of victim when I let myself be manipulated, yet I grew up knowing that role so well. With the help of my HP I am respecting myself, and my limits more than before. I am grateful to have Al-anon, and this message board in my life. "When we know better, we can do better, and I am really working hard to achieve that!! Thank you for being there, and for listening. Please pray for my son today, he needs all the prayers that he can get. I know that it will be God/HP's will, and not mine. Thank you so much!!
YOUR SON IS IN MY PRAYERS, ITS SO HARD WATCHING A LOVED ONE STRUGGLE WITH ADDICTION, KNOWING THERES NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO TO HELP TIL THEY ARE READY TO HELP THEMSELVES. I am very moved by the empathy that you have shown to me. It is so comforting to know that my son was in your prayers yesterday.
Yesterday was a very long, and emotional day for us. My son spoke very well about his situation. The judge was a woman, and I felt that she was relating to what my son had told her about his accident.
He has been in a state of deep depression for the last few years since his accident. He has lost over twenty-five pounds, it breaks my heart to stand by, to see what is happening to him. I pray a lot each day for him, I put him into the hands of the HP, which really comforts me.
He has a whole box full of drugs, plus everything else!! When the judge asked him how he saw his future? he saw it as being very black, he does not have much hope. He knows how difficult it is for me also, because he mentioned to the judge that it is a lot for me to bear. He really knows, yet he knows that I will always be there for him.
He is in court for the CSST, and an accident that he had while he was working. He has been declared to be invalid, because of a serious back problem. He went through an operation, and he has metal in his back, and he has had so much pain that even with all the medication he is taking, it has become chronic pain. I still have hope that one day, things will change for him.

Thanks for being there, and caring so much!! It is so comforting to have friends who understand. Many of us on this message board have children, and we really understand when our children are going through difficult times. No matter how old they are, they are always our children, and their pain is our pain.
I believe so much in the power of prayer, and I think that is the greatest gift that anyone can give us, especially when times are very difficult!! Thank you for the gift, and I will keep you in my prayers also. "After every rainstorm, there is a rainbow waiting to share its beauty." This is a phrase that my uncle would always send to me along with all of his e-mails, today I am sharing it with you.
Hi Linda...probably didn't mention it yesterday, but my 29 year old son is going through a divorce, so I really do understand the mother's wish to hold her child's pain. Though we can't, at least we can let them know our love for them is unconditional.
I am so sorry to hear that your son is going through a divorce, because it is never easy. It really affects all the family members involved. Standing by your son, and letting him feel loved is the best thing that you can do for your son right now. I will keep you, and your son in my prayers. LET GO AND LET GOD/HP, He will do the rest.
I hope that you will find something good and comforting to do for yourself this weekend.
