daughter's friend okay,,,

Hello everyone,

Thanks again for the prayers for my daughter and her friend's family. A friend of my daughter's committed suicide this past week, 19 year old boy. Her ex-boyfriend's cousin. This morning I got a call from someone looking for the ex-boyfriend. The kid's family was very upset not knowing where he was or if he was so upset he also tried to kill himself. My daughter wasn't answering her phone so when my husband got off of work after lunch he stopped by daughter's apartment to find the kid there. "whew"  The kids family was so relieved. I guess his mom had been crying and was a mess. The kids sister went right to my daughter's apartment and picked up her brother after yelling at him. My daughter had him and some other people over last night to talk about why this friend committed suicide. Alcohol nor drugs were involved. This ex-boyfriend of hers ended up falling asleep since he had not slept since he got the news about his cousin and didn't wake up when he was suppose to be with the family. ( he flew in from Nevada where he has been living)My daughter has been having a hard week too since she found out about the friend's suicide. He actually is the kid that carried my daughter into our house the night we called the police on our daughter when she was so drunk and out of control before she went into inpatient treatment. He was the nicest kid. :( They feel he was depressed and no one caught on.

My daughter said when she got the news this week about the suicide she shook so bad and wanted to drink. She hung out with an AA friend so she wouldn't drink and got through the anxiety. She shared this with me today. It surprised her that she had such an urge to drink and such anxiety like that. She realizes how important her meetings are to her sobriety now more than ever. One of the guys at her house last night is the one guy that found the kid right after he shot himself. There is a family funeral ceremony tonight that my daughter is going to. The regular funeral is tomorrow. Thanks again for your prayers. I know they help! cdb

Thanks jj and megan for your kind replies and your prayers. I feel so bad for that family. First a cousin was killed in Iraq. The ex-boyfriend of my daughter's saw his cousin killed (he was in Iraq at the time too) He ended up with a medical discharge due to a mental breakdown after that. Then the ex-boyfriend's other cousin committed suicide! I don't know much some families are suppose to endure. The friend of my daughter's is flying back to Nevada Sunday so hopefully my daughter can try to return to some normalcy in her life. I can see that she is struggling with her sobriety :(  Thanks again for the prayers. I will see you all when I get back from visiting my parents. ((((((((((hugs))))))) cdb :)
