Update/Apprentice show/etc.

Hello friends,

I got a call from my parents today. My dad is in congestive heart failure and mom has alzheimers. They are packing to move closer to me. They are in AZ and I am in ND. I never did offer to fly there and help them out because I have my own health issues and wouldn't be much of a help anyway :(  They hired a lady to help them pack which made me feel better. If they would have asked me to come I certainly would have. They do worry alot about my health too. They sound so happy about moving and I am happy for them. Someone here reminded me how when my dad was in the hospital several months back I wished I lived closer to my parents so I could be with them in times like that. Well, with all my thoughts of how this will work out etc. and my friend here reminding me of my feelings back then, I realized HP/God is answering my prayers. Wow, my HP/God has to work through other people to get me to see that he has his hand in this LOL. I think that is sort of kewl. I need to work on being more calm inside myself so that I can hear the messages from HP/God. So now, I am thanking HP/God for answering my prayers.

I found out that my brother who lives in NJ and works at this home development retirement place as their televison producer was involved in a soon to be aired Apprentice Show. Each Apprentice team will compete to see who can sell the most electronic equipment out of each clubhouse. My brother is not in the show but was with the camera team. :)  Of course this makes my mom and dad very proud. Too bad my other brother who disowned us won't know about this :(  Oh well, Life has it's ups and downs and different trials for us.

Well, I wish all of you a very serene weekend or the best you can get with the alanon skills. If we try to work our program we can get healthier and find those moments of serenity. One of my moments today is just reading and posting at this message board knowing that you all genuninely care and understand me. your friend in recovery, cdb :)

It sounds as though your parents are happy with their move, and with all their problems!  That's wonderful they could find joy.  I hope to be able to find joy & happiness no matter what face me too. Have a good day.

So sorry to hear about your parents. You will indeed have a tough path to follow for the next few months, but you have grown so much in the time I have known you, I know you have the strenght to follow through. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.

Your friend,

Cara ("cabecka")

Thank you all for you replies, thoughts and compliments :) Fiona, yep, good idea. I will mention it to my son, but I thought they have to stand in line at places for like hours at a time? Lately, my son said he just wants to have a job he likes and be happy. The money isn't the important thing. I guess that is what all of us really do want out of life too.  cdb :)

RE: o cdb-Update/Apprentice show/etc.

Cdb,

Thanks for all your great posts--i was just saying a prayer for you and your parents and right outcomes for all involved with lower stress on both sides.  That is pretty cool about your brother's success--i also liked your life has it's ups and downs perspective -very mature way of looking at life. not always so easy to be in that place all the time, but a good ideal to shoot for.

I also just went back to read some responses from my self care tools message i put up a few days back and i so apprecitaed yours. you are a very thoughtful responder and messager and i like reading your posts.

take care Luv 123 (a.k.a sha-angel--the board wont accepts my "sha" nick 4 some reason)
