Thanks to all!

Thank you all for your great responses to my post about helping my daughter.  They were, once again, very insightful and helpful.  I am so fortunate to get all of your experience to help me with this adventure.  I am going to help with the car, but being a mother, I took the opportunity to give one minute of lecture to my daughter.  Told her that the way I see it, really looking for a job and really working on your GED looks different that what I see her doing.  What I think of when I say "really" I see someone going out every day to apply for jobs and taking whatever they can get until something better comes along and being the first in line for any new jobs that come up.  It also means going to the center to study for your GED every day!  Anyway, I figured I paid for the right to give my opinion, she didn't like to hear it, she never does.  She also asked if we would pay for her Impact Weekend and she would pay us back when she gets her tax refund, I think the answer to that one is "no" she will have to wait for the refund as I had reminded her several times to get her taxes done and she did not get right on it because she didn't believe me that she would get a refund.

I think you had a good mix of helpfulness, love, and tough love.  Like the serenity prayer, having the wisdom to know the difference is the hard part.
