Thanks for the prayers for my family.....

Thank you all for your recent prayers.  I finally talked to my dad about that situation with my son about the business he was buying and so far dad is doing okay. He is hurt as we all are that my uncle did not at least give my son and dad the courtesy of talking to them and offering them the chance to counter offer or be prepared for the shock. Many people in the town had already heard of the pending sale. My dad did get his money back and that part is good. My dad blames himself too and I said, do not blame yourself, your brother had the choice of contacting you about the matter before and did not. I in turn wasn't able to control my thoughts about my anger at this uncle. A mother is very protective of her children and it was tough for my dad to hear me hurt and anger at his brother when he probably would like for everyone to get along. Especially at his old age. I am going to keep on praying for my dad's health as he is spending this week with other relatives for a small family reunion and the subject will certainly come out. IN fact the selling of the business made the front page of Saturdays  paper in the city that it happened in. I was hoping there would be some explanation other than greed. WEll, nope! Uncle is so proud of the extra $200,000.000 he made! Who cares if my son's wages will get cut! And his hopes and dreams were taken from him from the verbal agreement that was to become official in writing yesterday!

My 23 year old son is taking this so well. I am a proud mother right now and know that I have been a good role model for him through his life in dealing with people or he wouldn't be doing so well. Hubby gets 1/2 the credit LOL. It is just that now with my poor health that I didn't have when he was growing up that I am not quite the same person I was.

As far as my 20 year old daughter who is in treatment, she must be going through the usual mood changes that treatment does to a person. Haximon told me last night that it takes 12 to 18 months for the alcoholic brain to be cleaned out once they stop drinking. I was upset yesterday over what the treatment is costing us. We already owe over $1,000.00 and that was hard for me to swallow since we are ourselves just trying to survive. So much for trying to save for retirment or a savings account. My husband says he will work overtime but when he got home yesterday he had all kinds of aches and pains from his job that requires him to be on his feet the entire time. I am going to trust in my HP for now. I am trying to take One Day at A Time or a 4 hour nap like today if that helps me to cope too with my illness.

I am just grateful with this message board where I have friends that will read  or read and post when they have time. I also wanted to update those that have asked and waited to hear how things went. Thanks again for the prayers! This is called Miracles in Progress afterall. Please update me on how your lives are going too. I sure enjoy reading your posts too. Your friend in recovery, cdb

Hang in there, better days are coming.

It is good to see you take the time to feel good about yourself and what a good role model you have been and to feel pride in your son. The person we most often take for granted is often ourselves.

Keep faith in your HP that your worries will lessen in the days to come.

                      Love Jeannie
