jj reminded me --/ my son....

JJ reminded me that letting go is so very much neat. I let go of my son’s recovery from his horrendous childhood and drug abuse, and his God and him are doing just fine going down my son’s path in life. My son seems to be trying very hard and is succeeding become independent of me financially. He lost several jobs in the past year that he has been here. However, he is keeping his sleazy job for a month or so while he works his new job that is way supportive of their employees. His hew employer even provides medical insurance, although co-pay. I so thank JJ and all in here… so cool!

Hugs & Luv,

I am so proud of you for pushing the young boy bird out. He is finding out how to take care of himself, that is so wonderful and not easy to do!!

You are such a good, loving dad. Believe me, I have not seen too many of them.

good for you and for him! love, debilyn

Richard,

It has been a privilege for me to read your posts since I joined and be able to share in the growth of you and your son. It so parallels with my daughter's and my situation. As you know, she is in a treatment center and today mom/me ruffled her feathers,,LOL. I was trying to take control again and realized it after we talked and had myself a good healing cry. It is so hard letting them fly out of that nest, especially with this awful disease that they have to live with. I do hope the best for you and your son and look forward to more updates and posts. cdb

Richard,

I find your postings encouraging.. My son lost his job, addicted to drugs, did a 4 day program at the addiction center, has been to one NA  meeting,  has an NA meeting tonight, meets with councillor on Tue and then stays in addiction center for 3 days again.. I have been to my first Al anon meeting.  It has only been 12 days since he admitted to having a problems.. Very early days yet.. He is living at  home with us.. It is a very difficult situation.. He does not appreciate what we have done for him..  no sorry, thank you or please,  I just try to remember this is a disease.. I have been sick with flu.. on top of all the stress.. I also have a weekend A husband he does not think he has a problem..I have put up with him for 30 years.. (lol) Most of the time I can ignore it ..but this past week end I thought just maybe he would not drink seeing son is trying to make an effort but NO he had to drink..  I have been to the chat room once and it was good... I just have not had the energy this past week to keep up with anything..

thanks for all the inputs

~~Pam~~
