  Alcoholism is a progressive disease.  To understand the progression of the disease in the alcoholic (and in us alanoners, too!  We follow the same curve into despair and destruction)   www.songdove.com/jellinek.htm    www.addictionz.com/chart_htm   (underscore)   I never saw such a chart until I ended up in a counseling center---wish I'd have been educated sooner than 1986.  Take care everyone.

Wow! Thanks Wallsal! I have gone to the Jellinek site before, but had never found this! I think we should post it as a very important read for all newbie's. I could get to the 1st site, but not to the 2nd :( will try again later. The reason I have never seen this literature is that it is impossible for me to go to f-f meetings, and can't always come here, although I do as often as I can. Thanks again for the help!! TLC
