Just heard a friend has died...feel as tho the stuffing has been knocked out of me...

What a difference a hour can make.

Just heard a dear friend has died suddenly and I feel like the stuffing has been knocked out of me...

Just bursting with grieve and shock.  She was only 41, and so full of life and love.

Cannot get my head around this.  Doesn't help because I have no one here to talk to.

cry
I really could do with being able to get my head around that Serenity Prayer now, but I just don't seem to be able to do this.  It is taking me all my time to control my distress and sobbing.

Please pray for the family and the children that have been left behind.  Two wonderful little girls, 8 and 6 years old.

((((((((((((((((Heartbroken))))))))))))))))))))),

At this time so early in your grief, the very best thing that I can do is to give you a great big hug, tell you how sorry I am for your loss and let you know that we are here for you.  Keep posting, keep feeling, be gentle with yourself, try to do something productive (perhaps making a meal or a special dessert to bring over to your friend's house), buy puffs kleenex - it's gentle on the face.

Love in recovery,
Maria

I'm so sorry to hear of such a loss. Get those nice soft kleenex and have a good long cry if you need to. Always helps me when I do. I'm so sorry you are in such pain. I will keep the family and you in my thoughts today.

I am so sorry for your profound loss, and will certainly keep those children in my prayers.

My ex-husband died last year at the age of 47, a consequence of his drinking/using.

We are human, and with such a shock, it does take time to wrap our heads around it.

Tears are for the soul what soap is for the body. We need to allow ourselves to grieve, cry, even get angry if need be.

Loss is painful, and we have to walk through that pain.

I agree with getting the kleenex out and having a good long cry.

I am so sorry you are hurting. I will be holding you in my thoughts and close to my heart (((hugs)))

I am so sorry (((((heartbroken))))). I know you will find your footing, but in the meantime I hope you can remember the good and loving things you and your friend shared. I will say many prayers for her two children and you. I hope you find some comfort tonight.

I am so very very sorry for your loss. There are no words to say which can make it all better for you. I lost my best friend in a car accident. I can only say that I understand your feelings.

I will pray for you and also for her family. Especially the children. Praying for comfort from your HP.

Love and Blessings,

Claudia

Yikes HB, sorry to hear. I can remember hearing of a friend, 41 at the time, being killed in a car crash. I heard it on the radio because she was kind of a famous person in the area I was living at the time. She had just gotten out of a horrible 25 year marriage (he had LOTS of affairs), had just written a wildly successful book, got a nice condo all to her self and was just finishing up her second book- everything was starting to turn around for her FINALLY and then this had to happen. It was sooo incredibly unfair. A drunk driver hit her head on- she died instantly but her dog lived for a couple of days and then died also. It was such a tremendous shock- there is really nothing anyone can say or do- except keep you wrapped up in warm thoughts and prayers. Hugs, J.

((((((((HB)))))),

My sympathies to you and your friend's family.  It's a loss that's hard to understand.  Keeping all in my prayers tonight.

I am glad you have this board to help you with this issue. I know I have had much much grief from the A. I think I grieved more about him than anything else in my life including the sexual abuse that nearly destroyed me.  Sometimes losses are hard to bear.

Thank you everyone of you who responded to my post. Your words of comfort for both me and the family have been very very real treasures.

I am working through the anger that the event has unearthed and feel I am making progress. Out of every bad things something good is waiting to be born and that one fact that it has brought me closer to recovering from anger is a huge and wonderful plus in all of this ugliness.

Still fragile but learning to accept what has happened is building strength I did not know I had.

Please keep the family, especially those two little girls in your prayers.

Thank you.

Healing - Heartbroken.
