Hello everyone. I feel like I am a poser or a wannabe aloner because I guess I stopped trying. I mean, I found alanon almost a year ago and took some itty bitty baby steps into it, but I felt like I hit a wall and alot of it was just me but basically I am still right where I left off, standing at the base of a wall. A non-alcoholic situation came up this last week and I found myself missing the esh I used to get. I am trying very hard to get through this problem with grace and maturity, without shooting myself in the foot. Not a whole lot has changed with the A, basically why I felt I had to put alanon on pause or something. But a few things have changed for me. I am still here.

We are told to take what we like and leave the rest. There is an ebb and flow to life. Guess what? Alanon and all the wonderful people and tools are still here. Welcome back.
Welcome back, we've missed you! The beauty of this program is that it is always there for you. Sometimes, I take a break from it. Or if I find my head is not in the right place, I use it more. I've felt like I've gotten "stuck" at times. That's natural, we all do. We're always here for you.

I think it took me a really long time to get into al anon. For months I went back and forth. I really was in denial. I know that saved me on many levels.
Sometimes I need a break and that's okay.....you will find the skills you learn here will help in all aspects of your life. Be gentle with yourself. Hugs
