sad about neighbours

i just wanted to share to help me with my boundaries. my neighbours are suffering the effects of addiction. there is serious violence and chaos in their home..... it reminds me how lucky i am to have found this program. i have spoken to the mom about the program, but she is not open to it at the moment. for now i have to accept that this is how it is. there are 2 small children in the home and i feel so sad to see how everyone is effected. i am praying for them, maybe others would like to too. i know god has his own plan but i find i am thinking about them a lot and i wish i could help. thank god i know about enabling or i would be right in there with advice, lending money etc. sometimes it is hard to accept life as it is.hmm

This is a difficult one, as there are children involved. Where I live, if you suspect that a child is in need of protection, you are legally obligated to call Children's Services.  Of course, Children's Services has got a far from stellar reputation in its care of kids who have been made wards of the court - a person hesitates to call, and get a kid taken from an alcholic or drug using home, only to expose them to the hazards of the foster care system.

Keeping a child in a home with rampant drug or alcohol abuse is legally considered child abuse, however. (at least, here)

Aloha Florrie!

Thanks so much for your caring share.  It helped to remind me of how delicate and different "Caring for" and "Taking care of" is.  I'll bet your HP has the same kind of heart as yours.  My HP does and a differences is that things usually work out better in HP's way and time than in mine.  I get soooo anxious when I get to thinking that my HP is attention deficit or otherwise afflicted.

If it wasn't for the fact that I've have seen my HP in action and can direct things to come out in awesome ways beyond my expectations, I would entertain the thought of reapplying for the leadership position.   NOT!!

Thanks for you post!!

((((Hugs))))
