An Update

Well, my life continues. Im still around, havent been around much, my ex finally moved out, and now Im all alone with the kitty, not sure how much longer he will be around either. I thought to myself again, why do I need this? I thought about it, and thought about it, and came to the conclusion, it doesn't matter that our relationship is over, I can still try to be a friend, even though it will take some time, if it happens. Even though we had our rocky moments, I miss her like crazy. I just dont know what to do. I know I am still looking for answers, and making changes to myself that I have needed to make, but it all takes time. I have decided again, after much mental debate, to find a F2F meeting, and start going to them. I'm just kind of lost right now. I think this is more of a "I need to get this out" than having really anything to do with al-anon, so Im sorry Im off track...

Thanks for listening (or reading in this case)

J

I'm new to Al-anon, but I can tell you that f2f meetings are wonderful. It has helped me tremendously knowing that I have those people to talk to and that they aren't judging me. I personally don't think that you should apologize for getting off track, everybody falls off track once in a while, it is just up to us to get back on track.

Big Hugs!

i can relate very muc.h. I think al anon is a huge resource for you. I also think it so so so key to have people around you who understand. I have a sponsor now and that helps so much. I can communicate with her a lot about what is going on for me. She defintely understands and we relate on many many levels.

Persnally my ESH was that for a long time after we split up I tried to be a friend to the EXA. I could not do it. He is not very "freindly". I had to redouble on my boundaries and constantly ask myself about it. When I started communicating with a sponsor about my guilt about his lack of self care she redirected me to myself.

Thanks all. I have a friend who was a sponsor in AA who has been kind of helping me, he also said he would go with me to a f2f meeting, so I don't feel so uncomfortable, I'm going to try to start going on Monday, work and a few other things permitting, it will be nice to start taking baby steps towards happiness again.

Thanks again for your guy's support, its so very much appreciated.

J
