For those of you who are interested, the blowing of the shofar (ram's horn) begins the Jewish New Year at sundown this evening.  It is called Rosh Hashanah.  The year is 5768.  THis is a month-long celebration of joy and prayer.

So, Happy Rosh Hashanah to all.

Diva

Going to hear the shofar with my little one tonight!  My favorite part of these celebrations is Kol Nidre, where you forgive those that have wronged you, ask forgiveness for those you have wronged, and ask to be subscribed into the book of life for this new year.

Happy Rosh Hashanah for those who celebrate it.

Shalom (Peace),
Leetle

Isn't it great that we can look to the higher power of our choice that speaks to us in a way that we gain guidance, solace, and serenity?

In support,

I agree Nancy,
It doesn't matter what name you give HP, it's all the same energy with different names  :).

I have deleted this post because I am much too good to offer a reply to ignorance.

I will only add the following:
Wise men speak because they have something to say, Fools speak beause they have to say something!!!  ;)

Best wishes to all,

Diva

Diva and all who celebrate this holiday....

Happy Rosh Hashanah

It's spiritual diversity that has broadened my view of my HP to what it is today.  I'm so grateful that so many from different backgrounds share how their HP helps them.

Month long celebration of joy and prayer?  How can you go wrong?  :)

Bask in your renewal.

Bob

(((Diva)))

Thanks for the explanation (PM). I enjoy learning of different religions. I don't count myself as belonging to any certain religion. I guess you could say I'm a mutt...lol
I take what I like from many religions and make it mine. American Indian, Buddhism, Taoism etc. I find it all has it's purpose with great contributions to spirituality and I respect them all.
Thanks again
Christy

I read that a part of this annual renewal was to cut up an apple and dip the slices in honey, saying or reading, "may it be thy will to renew unto us a good and sweet year".  I thought this was so cool - several times when I worked in a big office, I took in a plate of apple slices & honey, with a little sign with the words on it.  Thanks for reminding me.
