Well I missed most of work and sat in court for three hours today. It wasn't particularly scary because I knew the A probably wouldn't be there as he is in jail. I didn't have to talk to anyone, never said a word and was awarded a $413 per month order. It starts in September. Like I said tho, he's in jail but at least now he will not have a choice in whether to pay or not. I didn't mention that he was in jail and I think the amount could be increased later because this is a lot less than what he should owe but I'm just happy to finally have a court order! I didn't want to mention jail and get it set for $25 a month and end up having to go back to court to get it raised when he gets a job. I figured if he wasn't out running around with "Dawn" getting drunk and high and going to jail then he could have been in court to speak his peice - but he didn't do that and it should be on him not me to cover his butt! And so what if he owes walking out of the jail? He has given me money maybe 3 times in the past year and I deserve some back support!! By the time the order goes into effect it will have been a year since i filed for it.
It's good to know now that I don't have to keep him happy or act any particular way to get the money, it's just business now as gardengal said. If I met someone else he would still have to pay and here they put you in jail for not paying! It sure frees me up to not be at his mercy!
I am still going to have to move very soon and have nowhere to go so I'm on the lookout for available rentals in the area and torn between so many issues regarding schools and proximity to work and my school and what to do with myself and how to make this better and have been stressing about it the past few days but I just keep trying to stay positive and have faith that the right thing will appear as it usually does.
Good for you. I am torn on the proximity to work issue myself. I want to move out of where I am. I just am just turhing it over every day. I make the effort and turn it over. That seems a more sane way to live.

I thought it was very smart of you to be quiet about the jail... I don't know Iwould have thought of that. Well, here's praying some cute affordable place will open up to you. Juat a thought, ever thought of doing a "Kate and Ally?" Remember that show where two moms shared a house with all their kids? I sometimes joke w/ one of my girlfriends that we should do that ... built in babysitter, someone to share chores with, playmates for kids, a good listener and friend always there... sounds tempting sometimes!! Please don't put your future in thinking that he will pay. I've seen too many times where even with the threat of getting put in jail they neglect to pay. A few of my friends have the same thing. Even with a deduction order they can not collect, taking a license away hasn't worked. One of the fathers has something like 70 writs (warrants) and she gets no money. I hope he pays, you do deserve it! Now you can move on and find happiness. Congrats on the win. I hope he pays you ;)

I didn't expect him to pay, after all he's in jail and I certainly wont pin anymore hopes on him!! I am just glad that it's accruing now and not just me saying please give me money... He will owe for time in jail just the same and if I get anything that's just gravy.
