What movie do you like to watch over & over?
Chicken Little - too funny - great story about perserverence with humor!

What movie do you love that most people don't like?

The Last Boy Scout - Bruce Willis Movie - really funny lines, but didn't do well at the Box office.

What movie do you hate that most people love?

O.K. I'm going to give this a try just cause it's Friday and I'd like to get in the mood!!  biggrin

Top 5 movies I've seen recently:
Good Sheppard ( although I had to watch this with the subtitles)
Ratatouille  ( very cute )
Holiday ( good romantic comedy)
Everybody's Hero ( kid's loved this one called it the Screaming Bat movie)
Never Ending Story (great kids classic)

Action, Comedy, Thriller, Horror :
I'd have to say I like comedy, definitely the thriller movies and the Sci-Fi thriller's

What movie do I like to watch over and over?
I have a few:
Pretty and Pink
ID-4
High Fidelity

What movie do I love that most people don't like?
"1969"  It wasn't out long in theatre's Kiefer Sutherland, Robert Downey Jr.  Ringing any bells.  Summer of Love?  O.K. well that was one obscure movie I could think of, I'm sure I have a ton more in my memory bank but won't bore you guys.  biggrin

What movie do I hate that most people love?
Harry Potter movies- I just have never been able to get into them

A secret movie that I love that no one knows about?
Laberynth ( David Bowie is way hot in that movie, not many people know I like it)
Rude Awakening (definitely an old movie and not many would peg me for finding humor in it, but it has a great message at the end.  "Give Peace A Chance"

I probably have the worst taste in movies compared to most, but that's o.k.  I never thought I'd enjoy the kids movies again but I'd prefer watching that over most movies these days.
Have a great weekend!! Peace
Twinmom~

Hi Friends, Wow... I love this!!!

So what are your top 5 movies? Any reason why?
"When Harry Met Sally", "You've Got Mail", "Shrek", "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?", "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"

Are you a Scary, Comedy, Action, Thriller, Movie Person?
I love movies that are funny, have a lesson embedded but aren't real obvious, and happy endings.

What movie do you like to watch over & over?
I watched "When Harry Met Sally" about 40 times over a period of 4-5 years, before I got married. Now, I like to watch movies with my 8 year old -- movies he enjoys help me re-experience childhood in a happier way. Being a boy, he likes "Shrek" and "How to Eat Fried Worms" -- stuff like that. "Monster House" is becoming a fav.

What movie do you love that most people don't like?
hmmmm. I don't know. I thought "Little Miss Sunshine" was kind of dark, and kind of crass, but it had alot to think and comment about.

What movie do you hate that most people love?
"American Beauty" -- geez, that movie was so dark... and the characters so dysfunctional. Why pay $9.00 to feel like crap. I can go to my mother's house for free! Also, lots of Woody Allen movies. He creeps me out.

What's your secret movie, the one most people don't know you love & you thought you were going to keep it that way, until you read this post - lol?
"The seven Year Itch" I think it's so funny and provacative -- for that era... wow!

Any other movie comments????

This is one of those questions where I'll read future replies and say "Oh, I forgot about that one -- I want to say that one, too!" But here goes......

So what are your top 5 movies? Any reason why?

The Elephant Man -- saw it in early 20's and felt like I was on another plane for a short time afterwards. So incredibly touching and inspiring

On Golden Pond -- I remember thinking in the middle of watching it "Thank God for people who make movies like this. Probably the performances and characters

Guess Who's coming to Dinner -- same as Pond. Also love the message.

It's a Wonderful Life -- thought-provoking, feel-good, funny, great performances

When Harry Met Sally -- hilarious, love the storyline and progression of their relationship

Are you a Scary, Comedy, Action, Thriller, Movie Person?

Drama -- anything evoking intense emotion and/or inspiring
Romantic comedies

What movie do you like to watch over & over?

It's A Wonderful Life and When Harry Met Sally (and....and....)

What movie do you love that most people don't like?

Tough one -- I heard a lot of negative about Jack Black and loved it.

What movie do you hate that most people love?

Hate might be too strong, but I don't like The Graduate for some reason. I guess the Mrs. Robinson character and the aimlessness of the main character

What's your secret movie, the one most people don't know you love & you thought you were going to keep it that way, until you read this post - lol?

Can't really think of any right now that I'd be hesitant to admit I liked. I'm sure there's at least one, but nothing's coming to mind.

Any other movie comments????

I never watched movies like The Godfather, Bronx Tales, Carlito's Way, etc. until I met my partner. We watched all of his favorite movies because he was sure I'd also love them, and he was right! We started watching a few of mine, but he pretty much universally didn't love them, so we stopped that. They were too chick flicky or too slow usually.  Now I joined Total Access, the Blockbuster version of NetFlix. The movies that come in the mail are ones I want to see that I watch while he's at work (we get up at 2:00 AM since he's a baker, and I do all my stuff in the mornings instead of after work since we go to bed around 6:30). When I return them to the store, I get a movie for both of us. Right now we're watching The Sopranos -- also loving that!

Great topic - nice to just have a little fun once in a while...

Hmmm...5 top movies?
In no order...It's a Wonderful Life, The Princess Bride, Excalibur, Field of Dreams, Airplane.  Oh, and anything from Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I think I'm comedy, followed by scary - old-fashioned spooky scary, not slasher scary.

Movies I can watch over and over...The Lost Boys, Hidalgo, Undercover Brother, Hollywood Shuffle, Regarding Henry...boy, that is one motley group of flicks...

A movie I love that most people don't...let me think about that for awhile...

The movie I hate that most people love...Some Like it Hot.  It was okay, but the funniest movie of all time?  I disagree!

Movie secret?  Probably the old horror movies with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

Thanks!
Marion

Marion - ooh - I forgot about Regarding Henry - that's my favorite Harrison Ford movie!!!

To me that was one of his best performances!! That is an awesome movie.

I'm not too crazy about any Woody Allen movie either.

I've never seen any of the Harry Potter movies either - missed the 1st one so I figured I'd be lost if I tried watching any of the others.

The Princess Bride - one of my daughters watched that movie 20 billion times as a pre-teen - that was her FAVORITE movie - ugh - I can't watch it at all!!!

Thanks to those who posted - fun stuff!!
Hope everyone has a great Monday,
Rita

Hi Rita,
For Christmas, I got a close friend a copy of The Princess Bride, because we have a similar sense of humor.  She absolutely HATED it - said she couldn't even watch it all the way through.    Go figure! aww.gif
Take care,
Marion

I think this is such a fun topic thank you Rita for posting,

I prefer suspense/ action/ thrillers, I am not a chick flick type of girl but one Ill admit to getting me every time is

Love Story (what a theme song can do, lol, definitely need tissues for!)

Forest Gump I can always watch over and over, believe its the nostalgia - (that movie is a Mom and Son favorite, ok and a few tissues)

As for a comedy, hands down my all time favorite for a great laugh till my sides hurt would be

The Blues Bothers

The Shining I enjoy and perhaps as scary as I would be daring to go also anything with Matt Damon is always a plus  wink

p.s.

One other "hidden gem", that didn't get much fanfare.....  is "Capricorn One".  Tough as it is to believe, this movie was actually pretty hilarious, and (gasp) O.J. Simpson was one of the key characters!!
