Faith Remains - a poem

This is a glum day.
The sun is shining, but not in my heart.
Life beats on, but without any melody.
A fog of gloom hangs about in the sunny corners of the day's rays.
Where is the hope, the faith that lingered but yesterday?
Not that much has changed, yet everything has changed.
Circumstances in life have deflated the helium in my baloon of hope.
I watch it float away.
It goes aimlessly with no direction, with no one guiding it's way.

Tomorrow and tomorrow, how many tomorrows will bring sorrow?
Lift me up out of the mire of this gloom, Lord.
Pluck me out of the muck that I find myself stuck in.
Place my feet on solid ground.
Let me feel the heat of the sun on my back.
Sun soaking into my body the lifeblood of revitalizing hope.
Silent winds meander thoroughout the rooms of this old house,
blowing into to it's corridors life and hope once again.

In the void between despair and life givinging hope, there is Faith.
Faith abides where even hope won't stay.
Faith lingers even when love seems to have left.
Life can even come to an end, but Faith remains.
