As I try to find myself in this program, I've discovered it's an ongoing process. I would like to share a poem I wrote about my journey in this area.

I want to be me.
I don't want to be known as someone's wife.
I don't want to be known as someone's daughter.
I don't want to be known as someone's mom.
I don't want to be just known as someone's employee.

Yet I am all these things and more.
I am a free spirit.
I am a pegusas rider to the stars.
My soul shines brightly on a dark night.
My soul within me resounds the echoes of the past.

The past echoes through the tunnels of my mind.
Who am I?
Am I not a wife?
Am I not a daughter?
Am I not a mom?
Am I not someone's employee?
All these things make up me.
None of these things alone, are who I am.

I am passionate about life.
Life is passionate about me.
Life surrounds me in the morning with the birds singing and the whipperwill's song calling me to a meditation moment.

A morning ride on my valiant steed provides me with the vantage point of one of natures blessed. I ride my steed, my steed responds to my signals of walk, trot, canter.....run.........like the wind, to be part of the wind, this is the blessing that God has given me.

My God has made me caretaker of the animals he has put in my care. 
They in turn provide me with love, comfort and solace when my heart is sad.
God asks that I care for their basic needs and provide them with a loving home, that's not much to ask for the joy they give.

I'm tied to Mother Earth, and I'm grounded in spirit.
Who am I?
I'm an intellectual genuis, I'm a common sense moron.
I'm intellegent enough to disect a bacterium down to it's DNA strand,
but is that who I am?

I am water, I am flesh, I am blood, I am spirit......I am human.

I am a composite work,
a work in progress.
