It took a long time for me to share this, but here goes

It has taken me a long time to be ready to share this. My son sent this to me while he was still in prison. He stated this was "his" life and this poem meant a lot to him. It meant so much to receive this from him and I was touched to the core of my being. I thought I would share it with you. BTW he has been home now for over 7 months and is doing amazing.

I ASKED
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve
I was made weak, that I might learn to humbly obey
I asked for health, that I might do greater things
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things
I asked for riches, that I might be happy
I was given poverty, that I might be wise
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men
I was given weakness, that I might feel the mind of God
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things
I got nothing I asked for
But
Everything I had hoped for
 Almost despite myself
My unspoken prayers were answered
I AM AMONG MEN, MOST RICHLY BLESSED
Isaiah 65:24

That Doxie was beautiful .  i heard a speaker say once that God took everything she ever wanted , so that she could have every thing she needed.
She was the most spiritual person I ever saw in my life , she beamed .  thanks for sharring that with us . Louise

(((((((((((((Dox)))))))))))))),

Wow, that made the hair on my arms stand up.  I can see (as a mother) how that certainly touched you to the core.

What a blessing for both of you.  So happy and encouraged that he's doing well.

Love ya,
Maria

((((((((doxie))))))))), this was not only touching, but beautiful.  It explains so much how God works and I am thrilled that your son had it to read while he was in prison.  I am planning on sending a copy of it to my son.  As you know, he is doing well, too.  I am beyond sure that he will get something from this, too.  Thank you so much for sharing this with us.  It is so special.  I am very very happy for your son and for you, dear friend.  I know how much our hearts can be healed when our sons are doing well after such pain.

Love you,  Lexie
