Update

Just wanted to post an update on my situation.  My husband admitted himself into rehab on Friday night.  He is there and seems to be doing well.  His counselor and RN said that he is motivated and has a positive attitude.  They keep him very busy with meetings, lectures, group and individual therapy.  I am very proud of him to taking this step.  This whole week I have been very sad and moody and I am having a hard time dealing.  Its just so much to process.  My father and my brother are not talking to me and that is adding to my pain.

The great news is my AH is 7 days sober!  The longest in probably 3 years.  Im going to try to keep my head up.  Thanks for listening.

I think that anytime sober whether 1 day or a lifetime is a gift. Good for your husband. I have had periods when I have been alienated from my family and it hurts. Sometimes when you need them the most is when they turn away. I hope it works out. Take care of yourself.

In support,
Nancy

That is great news that your hubby is in rehab and 7 days sober.
Like someone else said...that is a gift.  I know what it's like with family of origin...but you do have family of choice....alanon.
If you have a sponsor...talk to your sponsor.  You will find love and support with a sponsor and with a f2f group.  I know when I was going thru my darkest times my f2f group got me through.
Take time for you right now...take care of you...pamper yourself a little. Rent your favorite movie, make your favorite thing to eat, take a long hot bath...pamper you a little.  You certainly deserve it.  This is part of your recovery.
I'll be keeping you in my prayers and thoughts.
your friend in recovery,
rosie
