miracles do happen

My AH is 90 days sober.  He is going to meetings and working a program as am I.  Home life is calm and we are really communicating.  He seems happier then he has in years.  Very grateful for Alanon for showing me how to let go and let God.  Trying to take this one day at a time but think it is a good thing to share when things go good.  Gratefully yours in Alanon

That is so wonderful. I am a never say never kind of person, largely because my Father is 20 something years sober and a totally different person. It does happen!

It takes incredible strength and resolve for someone to stay sober, you husband should be very proud.

Good luck!

Take care of you!

WOOHOO! Congrats! It's always a nice milestone when they hit that.  Congrats on your recovery too.  Remember the dynamics of a sober relationship are different than that of an active relationship. This program was so helpful to me during this period.  Miracles do happen even when we think that they will never come.

Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

even though my hands not up to par, i'm going to type to let you know, Elizabeth, that i appreciate so much your encouraging post.

i'm delighted and thrilled for you that alanon helped you and i give you all kinds of credit for being *willing* ...
willing to turn to alanon
willing to work your alanon program
willing to keep working it -- since i'm sure the changes didn't happen overnight!
and
willing to live with an active alcoholic while working your alanon program -- very, very, very hard to do in my opinion ... as the Opening of each alanon meeting says:
"The Family situation is bound to improve as we apply the Al-Anon ideas.
Without such spiritual help, living with an alcoholic is too much for most of us."

Blessings to you, your husband, and all whom your lives touch.

I would Also Like To Thank the AA Programme For Giving Me The Understanding Into This Ilness, Its Where I was Taught To Find Compassion And Understanding And Humility

Alanon Taught Me I Was No Longer Alone And How to Find Contentment Once I Changed My Attitude And To Stay Strong Using The Lit And Slogans

People Can Change For The Better If They Work It Like You Guys Have

Still Tho For Me Its A Blessing One Day At A Time

Dear Elizabeth ,
My H is also new in soberty 103 days,i thank god every day, that we have been given another chance to save are marriage of 36 yrs.
This would have not been possible im sure if it wasnt for this board, once i learned what i was doing wrong and changed it ,only then did things get better,it still saddens me though that to let the one you love fall to his bottom and pray they do come up again .
Hubby also started a new job this week, after losing his last one due to losing his licence to drive ,we are still taking things one day at a time.
I love the people here ,i owe them sooo much and i wish every one a happy peaceful life.
  lots of love  ollie xxxx

I am so happy for your Husband and you... isn't it a wonderful feeling to have him back!!!  It is such a process of growing but nothing like the chaos caused while your spouse is active in alcoholism.

My blessings to you and thanks for your hope, yes, miracles do happen and things do change.  We are not in control and HP is there to take the wheel...

My prayers for you and your sober husband... take good care of you!!!

Love, HeidiXXX
