I'm sitting here, chat is empty, and I decided to go surf the message board. I got a reply to one of my posts. And it really made me smile....lol
This is what it said:::
"I just wanted to chime in here and tell you that you always brighten my day when I see you online, and I miss you when you are not there. I'm almost ashamed to say that in spite of your pain, you often boost my spirit and make me feel good. I really mean that".... .
Most people in the room and on the board know Ally as being "Funny, Bubbly, full of life, and jokes"... Now in the last 5 weeks or so, they are seeing the REAL ally. I have changed in here so much in the last few weeks... I have admitted I am hurting and I am sharing at every meeting... And for me its like a relief... I love comming into MIP and helping people, making them laugh... If I can brighten up someone's day, i'm doing okay... But it's been hard for me to pretend I'm awesome all the time.....
Someone said to me Ally, you are here for the same reason as all of us...to find recovery..you don't need to be happy all the time...you can be in pain and hurting too....we are all here for you...
And you have all been here for me. I honestly dont think I would have gotten this far without you all. In sharing I have received messages of support from you all..Have had private messages, replies to my posts, and THAT is what has kept me going.....
So I know I have still got some way to go to get out of this depression, but I'm GREATFUL and a very LUCKY lady, to have all you guys in my corner.....
P.s..... I'm still able to annoy you lol....lol I'm down but not out yet.....
Learning that I don't have to pretend to be happy & carefree to be here is very freeing for me - I can have bad days, I can have days when I feel like screaming & days I don't feel anything and ya'll will put up with me anyway is AWESOME.
