Went to court on Friday

Just an update for anyone who's interested.  I DID go to court on Friday and had the restraining order made permanent.  It was a horrible ordeal.  He didn't show up thank god but I was first and had to testify in front of a courtroom full of people (small town) about what had transpired.  How embarrassing.  Then the judge put me on the spot and asked how he had been violent to me.  I would have thought breaking into my house when i wasn't home and stealing money would have been good enough.  Forturnately he said that he would kill if someone tried to keep him from his son last time I saw him.  Although I didn't take it seriously at the time, it did make my case.  I now have full custody of my son for one year!! HURRAY.

I actually did feel a little disappointed that he didn't show up, I guess I wanted to feel like he thought that me and his son were worth fighting for or something????  But just slightly and I was over it pretty quick.  I really would have been shocked if he did show up honestly.

It's kind of eerie not to hear a peep from him.  And, I know this is sick but I'm gonna put it out there, it kind of made me feel special and wanted when he still tried to contact me.  Only I could see violating a restraining order as making me special and wanted... LOL

I completely understand that whole contacting you thing. :) It isn't sick. I reckon it is human nature to want to feel wanted, regardless of who is it. We all want to feel loved and desired. You've made such wonderful progress.....keep up the great work. :)

The important thing is to STICK with it. Do not break that restraining order girl. I did it, I know. I allowed him to come into our house to see our kids and he started his crap and threatend, "well...you let me in" Once he started his drunk attitude and I thought he was going to try and be the "tough guy" I called and he was arrested and then it was a felony and he got thrown back in jail and I did NOT bail him out! Of course, NONE of that taught him a thing.
I could give you thousands of things I tried to get through to my AH. When I say HIS disease made me sick, you could never even imagine the stuff I did. Good girl and I hope you draw that line in concrete and you do NOT let that man cross it. Keep that little boy safe, you're all he has.

Good for you.  I think some day I will have to get an order to the A.  I know it helps to walk in others shoes.
