room to breathe

Hello All,

AH is gone to detox and then to rehab for a month. The process to get into detox and rehab is enough for anyone to drink/drug, LOL.

I am looking forward to a good nights sleep and some peaceful days. I am really working on the one day at a time, no projecting, no expectations. He is safe tonight, didnt kill anyone with the car, thank God, and for that I am thankful. I have had nightmares about the drinking and driving, I know to detach, but knowing the risk of the other people on the road because of him this past week made my blood run cold.

** I am really working on the one day at a time, no projecting, no expectations **....

i'm putting this piece of your post up on my fridge.
when/if i begin to feel anxious, mad, alone, scared, sad or unsure. if i'm  t-r-y-ing (lol) to project into the future;  i'll walk into the kitchen and read it. if i am working my program and realize i've let myself get into a funk. i'll be morelikely to focus on the moment i'm standing in.  take a walk outside or over to the window and Look uP. up into the beautiful ski above.   give myself a moment to just stand there allowing myself to stop whatever negative thoughts i'm letting myself take on (that i know i shouldnt be.) I know now its ok to give myself a break. i can allow myself to stop and step back away from any negative kind of moments.   negative thoughts.  i dont have to dwell on those things i can not control, i didnt cause and i can not cure.

times throughout the day,  especially times i know might be a bit more stressful than others..,  i remember to meditate, even if for just a few minutes.  Take in a deeeep  breathe'  then   Let It Gooooooooo.        ***  THEN~ i'd get busy doing something I like. read that novel. go to an Alanon meeting. visit the MIP board.  paint that wall. clean out my car,.lol. sing a song while i work.  hum  (lol)   or  even something  as simple as recite some slogans.   Let any/all the negative thoughts Go (on out of my way.)  turn em' over to HP/God.   And fill my head,  my mind and (my vision) my sight of things i love. that are healthy and good and right.    (((BiGHuG)))    Keep Looking uP  this too shall pass.    your doing just fine

(((((evey)))))

haha.... speakin' of cleaning out the car., i just added that to my list of things to do.
