Another day, another 6 pack

I am a bit frustrated today. My A went over to do some yard work that needed to get done...he comes back and whines about wanting a beer. How good a beer would sound right now. I wish I had a few bucks. on and on...so I finally went out while I was running my errands and picked him up one. Of coarse he is "so grateful" when he finds out I got it for him. He then finally says that he thinks that he is still testing himself. If he finds that he "needs" a beer, he will quit again. I am still praying for that day!

I am grateful to have at least one distraction. Since Bryon is doing so well, he is just "one of the kids" now it seams. His pneumonia is cleared and almost done with his antibiotics.

so...now what...

I am a stay at home kind of mom, so I am getting involved in the school...went to the PCA meeting this month. Did my service this week for staff appreciation.

Now...I am really trying to go full force with my home and garden business. So far, so good. I actually did very well today, so I have been re-engergized again (not that I needed it LOL). I am just trying to keep the focus on me, my kids, my business and NOT ON HIM!
I am trying to remember the saying about the nose. When you get into the business of others, it is past your own nose and therefore none of your business! So, here I go again. Trying to practice what I say. Sometimes it is so much easier to say than do. I know...I am back at step one for a few till I get my nose back on my own face! LOL

I know things will get better. God has truly been there for me. God has been there for my son and my daughters. I know he is with me now, and will stay by my side so long as I allow myself to allow it, accept it and be thankful for it!

Thank you MIP
I love you guys!

Sandy Poli

((((((((((((((((((((((((smpoli))))))))))))))))))))))

It's so refreshing to read a post that sounds very positive. I am plesed you are putting the focus on you and your kids. That is the only thing you can do. Throw yourself into things, keep yourself distracted form him.

One thing I will say is::::YOU buy him beer, (lol) hmmmmmmmmm

Keep up the good work on you.

Your friend In Recovery

Ally

It sure is refreshing! It does mme good to read about putting the focus on one's self and working to keep it there! And you sure got a list of what can make you feel good! I hear that if you keep working on it you'll be successful. So just keep on keepin' on, smpoli! :).....jaja
P.S. I don't know if I'd buy the 6 pack for my A. And I wouldn't bother trying to stop him from getting it himself (he'd find a way to do that on his own anyway) but I wouldn't help him along his path to destruction.

I guess maybe I should clarify! I only bought it for him because I handle all the money. If he buys it, he will charge it, hence costing more. That is the ONLY reason I chose to do it myself. To at least try to save a few bucks. If he is going to do it, at least I can try to make it as least expensive as I can. If he had money coming in too, I wouldn't even think about it, but since he doesn't I do what I feel I need to do.

Ok, I'm rambling. I am not enabling him, I am just looking out for the financial aspect of the family.

In Gods name in recovery,
Sandy

I'm just so glad about ((((((((((((Bryon))))))))))))))))))))))).   I can't tell you how many nights I prayed for him and you.  Did not know about your daughters cause I would have added them too.

One day at a time is all we have and just for today, I am Bryon can be a "little boy."   Blessings.

yours in recovery,

Maria

Hi Smpoli,

Thanks for the update.....I've kept your family in my prayers.  I'm glad your little boy is doing well.....Thank God for that.  Keep trusting God...He is faithful.  Overall it sounds like you are doing well.  I will continue to keep your family and hubby in my prayers.  Wishing you many Blessings.....
love,

P.S. My son is doing well.  Struggles some with the guilt of his past, but is growing up and trusting God.

I am so glad he is doing good.  he can face his own demons one at a time!  I know the saying about taking too much on, getting overwhelmed and getting nothing done!  So, small steps to climb a big mountain and he will get there!!!!

Thanks for your support.
Love Sandy
