C2C 8-12

The C2C reading for today 8-12 speaks about  the 3rd Step turning our will and life over to the care of HP.  The reading suggests that this is thei type of surrender that we need in order to accept the fact that we are not all powerful and in  control

The quote is from Plato:"Time will change an even reverse many of your present opinions.  refrain, therefore awhile from setting yourself up as judge of the highest matters.

I have found this to be so true.  Acceptance is the answer

Mahalo I shared in my morning group what occurred to me when I surrendered my alcoholic/addict wife over to my HP  (Held her up for HP to take and brought my hands back down empty) I could hear the chant "Free at last, Free at last, Thank God I am free at last".  I was in bed dreaming it and my mother asked me what was going on when I woke up to start my day.  She heard the chant also.  My alcoholic/addict was then used as a definition of humility by my Higher Power for me.   Chicken Skin.  God what a journey.   ((((hugs)))) smile

Thank you Betty for your service, the daily and your ESH.....I so agree - acceptance is the answer to all my problems today....I have always turned to and referred often to what the Big Book of AA says about acceptance....

~~~~Acceptance is the answer to ALL of my problems today.
When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation- some fact of my life- unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God's world by mistake.
Unless I accept my life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.~~~~
This so helps me realize that while seeking a spiritual life and spiritual growth, I am what stands between me and forward progress. When I stay centered on what is instead of what I think it should be, things go very well for me....
I had a day of extensive FOO!! We had a family reunion brunch this morning for my Irish side - about 70 at the "Brown's Irish Market" nearby in Kansas City....Fascinating place - small, quaint and tons of character...It's the oldest Irish owned, Irish managed business in North America...
We then had a wedding this evening - glad to be home. A festive day filled with family, foolishness, insanity and more...Hope you had a marvelous day!
Practice the PAUSE...Pause before judging.  Pause before assuming.  Pause before accusing.  Pause whenever you are about to react harshly and you will avoid doing and saying things you will later regret.  ~~~~  Lori Deschene
