I go to goodwill to donate some clothing and i hear this "squeak squeak" sound and i know its an animal, most likely a dog and so i follow the sound...i find a dog in 77 degree weather, in the sun, locked in a black dodge caravan NO windows down, not even a crack and doggie sees me and RUNS towards the window and i am MAD!!!!
I go into the store and i tell the clerks at the desk what i observed and would they page owner to correct this?? oh yea, they jump on the pager and they ask, very firmly, will owner of this car please come and take care of their pet
this disheveled lady with hair so stringy i could oil a squeaking door with, comes up and shes LIVID at ME....."Its ONLY 77 degrees out and i just left her for a minute, what is your problem????"
I tell her that "well, lady my *problem* is a helpless animal, locked in a truck w/no ventilation and I could have, instead of giving you a chance to do what is right, I COULD have called the cops and got you FINED----You need to take care of your pet, she is uncomfortable and crying"...
I walked out of store and shes following me, yelling, veiled threats, and I turn around and i FACED her and said "excuse me???" and i just stood my ground...waiting for her to come at me...she was waay taller but a well placed kick in a sensitive area would have "equaled" us ,
when she saw me standing my ground, she stopped...cussed me out for F****** up her shopping and telling me to mind my own business as i am standing there watching her every move....i saw her get in her car and fire it up and ROAR off through the parking lot, glaring at me all the way.....
i will never forget that car or that woman or the dog...I see it again??? NO warning..NO chance to mitigate b4 police give her a hefty fine...I am calling the cops....and let them deal with this article
I called the animal shelter and asked about city ordinances, etc., and they did confirm it is big fine and also they thanked me for doing the right thing...
I am not joking when it comes to abuse of an animal, child, old person or disabled person.....Do it and I am gonna do something about it....Its that simple....
I always believed that when good people sit by and do nothing, the evil/darkness prevails....funny...she is all ready to jump me but when I turned and faced her?? standing with my legs about shoulder width apart, eye to eye, she cussed me out and got in her car and took off.....
I am NOT gonna let a child or a pet sit in a car with no ventilation.....it AINT gonna happen or ANY creature that cannot defend itself......
Had to get this out...Adrenalin rush, DELUXE!!! But yours truly is OK for today!!!!

My son came over tonight because he was having a bad day and I ended our visit telling him how wrong his life is. Oh my god how could I? Am I never going to get it? When I was doing it I thought I was so right and that truth was the key to help him. I was so certain. I can't believe this. What was I thinking. How could I be so wrong?
I'm glad your OK because in this day and age you never know when that one person will go off the deep end and hurt somebody. You really could have been that somebody. Police are the best people to step in when there is something wrong....bad for the offender but good for the animal/baby/kids that could get hurt or die because of the stupidity of others.
It's crazy that people love their animals so much they can't leave them at home when making a quick run to the store but leave them in a hot car no matter what the temperature is. Not really thinking I'm sure....

Good for you. One time I heard a child in Burger King getting reprimanded in an abusive way. Long story short...everyone was looking at this rude mother who was sitting with her boyfriend and treating her child like crap. So I went up to her and told her to stop treating him that way. She got in my face. I stood my ground. She ended up backing off and leaving. I threatened to call the cops. I know martial arts, so for the most part I am not afraid to stand my ground any more. Bring it on. I am sick of crazy people.
I'm glad you were relieved of any need to physically defend yourself and I'm also glad the pup got some air. I can certainly relate to the feelings you experienced with the dog locked up in the car with no air and no way to take care of itself. Glad you asked for help for him and the owner was located, too.
This made me laugh, neshema I can picture you standing there and this stupid woman walking away. Good for you. Brilliant example of being courageous, standing up for yourself, love it.x
I am a great animal lover, and give a lot of my time volunteering for various animals causes, so your post particularly hits home. Last summer I actually broke out a car window upon seeing a dog in a closed vehicle, tongue hanging out and whimpering. Then I called the police, who responded quickly. Because we could not locate the owner, I took the dog home with me. Her name is "Puddin." She is happy as can be, has two poodles to be friends with, and I adore her. She is a Cocker Spaniel. My only advice to you would be, called the police first. People who are cruel to animals are the kind who would not hesitate to knock you down. But good for you for being concerned and taking the time to see that this poor excuse for a human being was "kept from doing her shopping." I like you, and I am proud that you took a stand. Good girl!
