Withdrawing...

nicely.  Ever been to a conference or service assembly?  Then you know what I'm going thru.   Our Fall Service assembly is about over.  I'm home early cause I got an appointment that takes the last 3 hours off the assembly...yuk.  I'm missing the goodbye stage...you know the hugs and the kisses and smiles and Al-Anon love that is woven thru our Al-Anon lives because we have met and cared and supported each others recovery.  We host this assembly every 4 years and so re-meeting family members, talking and getting caught up is super.  This is my 4th one and only some of the faces have changed and the new ones are bright and shiny and so willing to be a part of that I feel elated just watching it over and over.  I got to meet some newbies to the service life of Al-Anon and "talk story" and exchange recovery.   Mahalo Akua...Thank you God for the AFG in my life and these opportunities to get my spirit polished and to polish another family member's.

If you have never seen this side of the program and or participated in it I encourage you to do service within your own areas and district...Life after alcoholism or maybe life in spite of it.    Keep coming back.    ((((hugs)))) smile

I understand this, Jerry! I missed my long timer's yearly meeting this fall and really felt like I missed something really important. Friends texted me to tell me that they missed my presence and I missed a service opportunity, as well. But, all is good, because I was asked to speak on the last 3 traditions at next week's meeting and to co-lead, too. I love being of service because it's truly rewarding and brings the program full circle. Thank you for sharing and for bringing up this important part of recovery!
