The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I stumbled across a new quote that is now among my "recovery" favorites....
"You don't have to attend every argument you're invited to." - Author Unknown....
I think that one speaks volumes, and it made me smile today.
Tom
p.s. My "favorites list" would now include:
What you think of me is none of my business. Words can be used for two things, and two things only - to build up, or to break down. I did the best I could with what I knew at the time. Try Al-Anon for six meetings. If you are not 100% satisfied, we'll gladly refund your misery. You don't have to attend every argument you're invited to.
Anyone else care to share some??

Thanks I like the new one, I posted a couple of mine they are the usual Al-anon slogans but I always enjoy added a few new ones to my list, or my signature... Thanks for sharing, I will have to remember your next one when I am about to go crazy on my Abrother...lol... Holding it together One Day at A Time....Keeping it simple ...
"Obsessive turned upside down becomes determination" "God only makes happy endings, so if it's not happy~it's not the end" "I can either be sad because roses have thorns or happy because thorns have roses" "Faith is trusting in God when we just don't understand" "Faith is closing your eyes and opening your heart" "Life is not measured by the number of breathes we take but by the moments that take our breathe away". and last but certainly not least......
Keep it simple stupid:)

I just used "You don't have to attend every argument you're invited to" today. It's fast becoming one of my favorites
I also really like "Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean". And I like all the others as well. The slogan seem kind of corny at first, but I find that they are immensely useful to keep the concepts in the forefront of your mind. I swear I've changed more in three months of Al Anon than in years of therapy!
