I wont be on the computer tomorrow, going to hang out with some friends and talk with younger daughter and make it a fun day. Anybody who was born near me, happy birthday,
the greatest gift I ever got was getting into recovery and meeting up with the loving people on this Alanon site and also next-door. Ive made some very good friends whose faces I may never see , But whos spirits I know very intimately
Every day I get on here, I grow just a little bit more, I overcome just a little bit more, I understand myself just a little bit more. And I love just a little bit more. It is raining furiously outside and tomorrow storms are predicted again. But thats not going to stop me from having a fun day
Well I don't share your birthday but let me be the first to wishing you a very Happy Birthday tomorrow! Have a wonderful day with your daughter. Grateful to be sharing this recovery journey with you. Please let us know all about you special day. Always nice to read about the progress we make toward living a happy, joyous and free life because of program.Thanks for sharing! Thank you everyone who wished me a happy day!!!! it rained like crazy, but i talked with daughter, went to my favorite thrift shop which is closing (going out of business) tomorrow, and I hung out with my many friends there...I bought a stuffed bear, as big as i am for my bedroom futon...(my little lab/pittie 18 month old pup is not impressed, giving up her "couch" to this big thing that won't speak to her)
it was bitter sweet seeing my pals, knowing that after Sun. 6pm we have each other's phone numbers and I said I would be honored to give them references in their next jobs.....
then it was dodging the deluge to get to the gym and i practiced some tennis and got on the rowing machine...listened to my tunes while rowing...hardly anyone was there because of the weather....
Got home around 6pm and had a hearty chicken and rice dish and a spinach salad.....boy this weather is something, when it pours it just looks like angels are emptying buckets of water......puppy got spayed yesterday (5 mos. old ger. shep mix) so i have to take her on leash so as to not overdo it.....i had this towel wrapped around my head and shoulders, walking her, i musta looked really weird, but one has to do what they got to do.....I'm hoping this clears by Mon. because I have $$ put away for my handyman to do some stuff, outside and inside work...a gift to me from me, LOL

Good to have you in the family Rose that shares September with birthdays. It's fun as this is an "our month" one in which we don't forget who's next on the list. It's good to see you handle life with your program and take on the journey of recovery. I appreciate how you have passed it my way...very grateful ((((hugs))))

Well for those of us who got the deluge, I am glad that it is coming to an end because Ive got all this wood Ive got to repair outside in the front part of my house however I will send some of it over to you guys who are not having any rain and who need it. I have a lovely Facebook friend from Sydney Australia and oh my God the drought she was telling me about was so bad I nearly cried for the animals that are just nearly attacking the water trucks trying to get water they are so desperate. I guess thats why I dont bitch and complain about being rained out from doing work in this house over the weekend and having to start tomorrow, because I think of these poor creatures that dont have anything to drink.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes and comments. I really appreciate it. Older daughter dissed me on my birthday and you know what? I just asked myself am I going to let this ruin the rest of my day? Cloud all the love that I did receive? Let it ruin my fun? And the answer was no. I had a great day in spite of her deliberately ignoring my birthday. I will always love her but I dont have to have abuse and ugly in my face. Her long-term drug abuse, even though she is sober, really changed her. She feels she has graduated from the program. I have not. I will, for the rest of my life need my program to keep my thinking manageable. She changed And not for the better. I do not want to be where she is. Its like she is just into herself, and its not who I am anymore its what can I give her or do for her. So I decided to put some serious distance, stop trying to write her and talk things out, and just let her learn her lessons on her own. She knows where I am, and when she Decides to get back into the program and act like a human being, then she knows where I am.
I have my friends and my loving family members and my recovery mates and I have decided I am going to love those who love me back and detach from the rest. I was dropping her emails every now and again, hoping that she would respond and want to talk with me and tell me why she is against me. But I decided this weekend to put a stop to that. The last email I wrote to her was about a month ago or so and I have decided that I will not issue further emails that go unanswered I have decided to back off, but out, detach, let her learn her own lessons, and take care of myself
