enjoying my summer!

These days I am just enjoying my summer & relaxing a lot. I am so grateful that the sun has been shining every day lately. I am so glad I can come on here & express more positive thoughts. I have been doing the best I can to follow this program. Especially one day at a time. I am so blessed that I can say that I have time on my hands to do what is necessary in my life & not waver from the task at hand. Sometimes I get side-tracked for sure. I just get back in touch to whatever is most important. I prioritize the things that really matter like gratitude. Every day I journal a few words of gratitude. My sponsor & I text each other as well. She is amazing. I don't know how she does it. She just keeps moving forward. Her sponsor has been good to her too.

Well...you are all here to witness my successes. I have a husband who is in recovery & is liking getting to know more alcoholics daily. I guess he has finally come to grips w/ the fact that he is really useful. I am so proud of him. My friend told me a while back that he does things for me because he loves me. I thought about it. Maybe that is what marriage is all about. I guess after all we have been through, we are a success story as well. Tomorrow we will celebrate 19 years of marriage. It is our anniversary. Never really thought we would make it for sure. I am grateful that we stuck by each other in sickness & in health. Those vows are very important to me. I guess I am finally in a place where I love him too. I actually do nice things on purpose. I like to see him smile & say Thank you for my extra effort. It isn't easy for me to be honest though & tell him the truth. I wonder if that is a character defect of mine. I am still afraid of his reaction.

Next time you all hear from me I hope you will see me acting in a positive way.

I don't want to lose my momentum.

Kathleen

(((Kathleen))) - so good to see you and to hear your wisdom, experience and growth in this recovery program. Also, I am so glad to hear about your husband and his recovery....just made me smile widely and genuinely as I do believe in miracles and love seeing them in action.

I completely relate to your views on the vows as well as the ups/downs that this disease brings to a marriage. As best I can, living one day at a time, I too have found my happy place, just for today.

May you both continue with your programs and growth and thanks for the positive, powerful share.....
