For Groo-Al Anon Forum Article

Many years ago I had an article shared with my from Al Anon's Forum magazine.  I wanted to share it here because when I truly sat down and read it word for word, line by line, I came to understand that I had a part in this disease and how it was playing out in my life.  I hope this helps others here on the board, as well!  Enjoy.

As I try to live the Al-Anon program each day , I find myself with the right to and responsibility for a new set of values and attitudes , I still have the right to become upset but I find that I also have the responsibility to turn away from anger.

I have the right to be supportive of others but the responsibility for not taking over their lives and problems.

I have the right to discuss and the responsibility not to lecture . I have the right to look back but the responsibility to look forward.

I have the right to learn a better way to live and the responsibility to share it with others. I have the right to expect happiness but the responsibility to create it.

I have the right to be understood and the responsibility to be understanding. I have the right to dignity with out sophistication and serenity with out superiority.

I have the right to live and the responsibility to let live, I have the right to take it easy and responsibility to make it easy to take.

I have the right to live one day at a time, and the responsibility to make the most of each day .

Finally I have the right to let go , and the responsibility to let GOD.

Hi Andromeda, I too thank you for sharing this great article. Do you happen to remember which issue of The Forum this came from? I would like to share it with my home group.
