How to keep busy

I have been trying to keep myself busy so that I am thinking of the alcoholic and ways to keep myself so busy he does not see me. I have been going to face to face meetings but I find I am still around the house when the alcoholic is around and I really need to get a life of my own so I do not see the alcoholic much. What are some ideas does people have to get out of the alcoholics way, to get a life of my own! Your feedback would be great!

Joker - When I was stuck obsessing about the disease and the diseased, I changed up my schedule as best I could to grocery shop when they were home, take walks, bike-rides, coffee with friends, etc. when they were home. I made sure I had my literature close by and also a few good novels - I can get lost in a good book. I also got earbuds and they were a great gift - I'd put them in and listen to speakers or music on my phone.

Service work, volunteering, softball were also things I scheduled to give me a break from the home/center of insanity. Just some ideas! Of course meetings are always abundant in my area so I could find one each evening if/when desired!
