i know this isn't alanon, but HOLY MOLY!!! WHAT a MONSTER

We have had horrid rains here in TX....everyday it is raining..pools of water standing near a couple of areas around my house....bailing out puddles so the mosquitos don't have a breeding fest......its awful...every day, i rush out to play tennis before the now expected deluge comes...I have been considering tossing in with my neighbors for the purpose of building an ark.....

anyway, i am in my kitchen about an hour ago, at the sink, washing out a few cups and dishes  and out of the corner of my eye, I see this BIG brown thing behind me by the stove.....I thought it was a mouse but then I see it has no tail....YIKES, it is a cockroach the size of a volkswagon in my kitchen......I'm yelling for the cat because she will kill anything non family that moves....no cat....(she was crashed out on my couch and never moved) so i grab the bug spray and I blast this sucker  TWICE...it sort of looked at me first and then scrambled under the dish washer...I could hear its "plus sized" hard body dashing for cover, under the stove, then it makes a 180 degree turn and scrambles to the dishwasher and I blast it AGAIN...the stink of that bug spray is choking me out.......i am scared to death of these things....SO i figure , oh great..it will croak under the dis washer and maybe ants will eat the body.....

NOT!!!! I go to calm myself down as I am freaked out...and on high alert....THEN,  I see it staggering around the other end of the kitchen, headed for the laundry area.....NOW its WAR!!! I grab my rug that I stand on when at the kitchen sick and I roll that up and I go after this brown, hard bodied intruder and I SNAP it with the rug...I lift up the rug and its NOT DEAD....I SMACK it again, this time over head and down as hard as I can.....AGAIN, it challenges me by not dying and tries to escape.....OK...I'm done....to hell with step 3, I am going in for the kill....I put the rug on top of it as it is trying to make its getaway, and I stomp it with all 104# of me,...jumping up and down on that rug, yelling my head off...DIE you ugly B$%$#%$!!!!  I lift of the rug and I swear!!!  the thing is FLAT!!!   Victory!!!!!  so I go to grab a paper towel, about a half a roll as I am not gonna touch this thing and it MOVES!!!! it trys to drag its flattened out body away from the scene and I do my "tap dance" on it AGAIN...

Finally it does its death twitch and its over!!! ....NEVER have I had a battle with something so much smaller than me last this long.....I clean up the mess, and I wrap it tight in the paper towel and I toss it in the trash out in the garage....

WOW!!! that thing was tough......AND ugly...AND the biggest one I ever saw....Dang rains are driving them in...........

I had to come in here and read a few posts and tell this story, so I can now go to bed without the picture of  cockroaches dancing in my head........

I can't believe that cat slept through this entire life and death struggle....she owes me a BIGGIE step 9........JUST saying

Thank you Rose.

I can't say I've ever seen a cockroach that big before, but if I do, I know who to call. LOL.

I will laugh all day with this one Rose...Thank you so much for the visual.  Here in the tropics of Hawaii we know intimately of what you did and it is part of our humor therapy.  You BRAVE LADY!!  Now go take your cat to a meeting with you and get her head on straight....how awful of her not to join in on the kill.  Might want to post the body outside the garage so the other cockroaches know your house is a serious fatal zone.   ((((Rose))))  love the narrative.  It will help my day go light.   wink

Hey Betty, LOL....in this case, letting go of results was cleaning up the mess I made, doing my tap dance on my rug with HIM underneath it.....I was veeeeery cautious going into kitchen this am, LOL.....dunno if it was courage or just  "him or me" mentality, LOL

BUT! somehow they hitchhiked with my stuff and now this house has them

****************************************
hey Alice, LOL....OMG...yes they do hitch a ride.....my handyman is "walkin with roaches" in his house...I normally do NOT have them...This was one of those BIG ones who occasionally climb up the sewer pipes and the heavy rains we have had drove this "leviathan" in my house....but when handyman comes over, I make him shake his clothes, shoes, etc. because he is not clean, like him to death, but he is horrible with cleanliness, anyway, I make him practically strip down b4 he comes into my house to work.....I HATE those things...never have had them

HEY!!!  20 mule team Borax...its clean...safe....I maintain by powerdering it in corners and on furniture, behidn things..in cabinets....i got sloppy and havn't done it for a while, gonna go back to it....the stuff gets in any insects skin "folds" like and it kills them AND they take it to the nest and kill the others...it will kill fleas (having probs with fleas b/c of the easy winter we had--so using canola oil on dogs and the 20 mule team borax for maintenance)  I am already, since I started back up using the Borax, noticing way less fleas....and i only started it Friday.....this monster that invaded me last night most likely would have died, anyway from my Borax, but I was NOT gonna wait, when I saw that thing it was WAR!!!!!!    so for $4 you can get rid of them and not poison up yours and BF's house......Borax WORKS...never gonna get lazy about it again....i also use it as barrier outside, but with it rainng so much, I didn't do it....when we get a dry spell for a while, I'm gonna sprinkle around my house to KEEP these things out.........Just thought I would share that littel tip...I am into organic and safe...
