Long Time

Good Morning,

I know it has been a long time since I have posted here. There has been so much going on it would make anyone's head spin. One good thing has come out of it though, my AH is 24 days sober. Of course this is after he shot a hole in the wall and went to a neighbor and asked her if she wanted to (in his words) "Fool Around". Was this his rock bottom...I dont know, dont care...because I really like this sober man. I told him he picked a good time because I am really going to need him now more than ever. Today they send my mom home with last stages of lung cancer. She will be on hospice care now. they have given her 2 weeks give or take. This is breaking my heart but at least I have support from him. Please keep my family in your prayers as we go through this transition in our lives. I will not be easy for any of us but with everything I have learned here i know i can be strong for the other sisters and still take care of me.

Debra

(((Debra))) - I am so, so, sorry for the health news regarding your mother. Know that I stand in loving support for all of you as you walk through whatever comes next. It's great to see/hear you and you do sound strong and able...

As I read your post, I am reminded how powerless we are. You have a significant life-changing event in process, and now - no matter how it happened - your AH is gaining sobriety. These are the miracles of recovery that allow me to truly be present, just for the here/now and grateful. I believe a power greater than us has lined things up for this moment in life to ease your burden and for loving support. Miracles happen all around us and I thank you for stopping by and sharing yours.

(((Hugs))) - sending tons of positive thoughts and prayers for all of you!

((((Debra))))  Love and prayers for your Mom and her family.  I think about what I would feel if I was in her shoes and it comes out that way.  Let her know it's okay to let go and that the family will be fine.  I did that when my own Mom passed and it relaxed her it seemed.   ((((hugs)))) smile

Debra. Many thoughts and prayers of love and support to you and your family. When my Dad died I felt blessed to have been able to spend those last week's with him. I believe it eased his suffering and helped me cope better. Much love and Hugs.
