ODAT 3-19-2017

The ODA T reading for March 19 speaks about living one day at a time.  It points out  that Al-Anon is a 24 hour programso that by living in this manner  we receive the  comfort and assurance that we need in the moment  and in the day   and do not burden ourselves with the woes of the past or worries of the future .
We must keep always in mind that today is our sole concern and we can make it a good day simply  because in this small span of time we do the things we need doing and set aside a little time for enjoyment.
By consciously defining our time into useful and satisfy activities each day we can give ourselves a variety and the spice of life.

The prayer is "I will make this day a happy one for I can determine what kind of the day it will be"

Early on in program, I always had difficulty staying in the moment and in the day
as as I really needed to practice simply staying focused on myself, my thoughts
and attitudes.
Keeping the focus on myself and not judging and evaluating others helped me to  stay in the moment and in the day,  and what a gift that has turned out to be

Have a great Sunday

Hi Betty, thank you for the daily and for your service. I still stru/let with staying in the present. Most of this is due to health and my fear of having another heart attack. I know that I can only take my meds and eat healthy then turn the rest over to my HP. Talking the talk is easy giving HP my fears and walking the walk is a work in progress. Today I am thankful that I will be celebrating another birthday for me and for my AS, born on the same day. My husband likes to say that he gave me an everlasting gift :)

Good evening...thank you for posting the topic from ODA T . I am an "alumni" from almost 10 years back. I found that I needed a little more support now and will be visiting this board...I am so thankful there are online groups now. Had a terrible night last night. The kind where you cry yourself to sleep. I gave myself permission to release. I then woke and did all that I could do today. There were fleeting moments when my thoughts shifted to tomorrow or a week from now...but I brought myself back to te present. I was pretty damn productive .Thank you again for the post. I will rest my head and maybe see some of you soon.

Hey Kalena - welcome to MIP - so glad you found us and glad that you shared! Grateful too for MIP and others who are on this journey - please keep coming back!!

Betty - thanks for your service from yesterday and the daily. I have many, many constant reminders that we only have today - yesterday is in the past and tomorrow has not yet happened. Love your ESH - grateful, grateful, grateful!!!
