On the edge

My gentleman friend and I go in cycles. We get into a fight once every couple of months. I apologize and tell him I am sorry. He insists he is not mad and then we start all over again. I got really pissed off this time. I have been under the weather. (which is normal with my chronic illness) it comes in seasons. I have been reaching out to him to be supportive of me during this time. He just tells me that it is not who he is. He went off this time telling me that "he knew he couldn't make me happy, I even told you that." So I did what I always do and sent him a message asking for his forgiveness. Now I am on the seat of my pants waiting for him to respond. My fear is that I will not respond appropriately and things will go back to the way that they were. Or worse, that I will respond appropriately and he will go away for good. Its so hard. and I am so scared. I love him tremendously.

To reiterate what Betty said. If you want to recover from this, you need help. I didn't start to "get it" until I went to meetings. Personally, I don't think many people in our situation can recover by just reading about others recovery. Out of love for a fellow sufferer I implore you...go to the meetings. ((Hug))
