This works when ...you work it.

Aloha MIP family and thank you for the gift of your ESH.  I woke up this morning and just as I did noticed that a message was coming over my cell.  It was from my wife who is still in Central Valley CA. for a little bit.  She sent her best wishes and congratulations on our 22 year of marriage...22 years!!  that is almost double the time of my first 2 marriages and that makes me smile widely.  Imagine that I never sought to marry her and that fact use to piss her off to no end "even while we were married"  "You never asked me to marry you!!" she would say and then with just a bit of sarcasm I would reply "so how's it going so far"? I am a bit of a smart ass at times guided by the steps, traditions and slogans; program.  I am not good at keeping my ego in check (EGO...Easing God Out) so I keep Offering God Entry...(OGE).

My wife has an Al-Anon program that she works with her HP and others in the program...We are bless!!  I was told that if both work the program the program will work for both; and it does.

I just came home from my morning meeting "At the Bay"  This is an AA group started by several double winners  (both programs) and it is powerful; we don't only speak of recovery from alcohol because the disease is more than just that; though we fully address the disease.  I continue to be impressed by the depth of the share experiences from others who know and know that they know that while the main disease was and is the compulsion and addiction to mind and mood altering chemicals that once that is totally abstinent we still have the life that is left over which we can still screw up without a drink or drug.

I listen keenly and often hear the voice of my former sponsors and my Higher Power and the fellowship and my wife and I are extremely grateful.  Although at times I get confusingly inquisitive on how this has worked so well I don't and won't screw with it; just keep working it as explained.

My MIP family has been a solid piece of my foundation and I will be forever grateful on a daily basis.   Mahalo Nui Loa.  ((((hugs)))) biggrin

Happy Anniversary to you Jerry and your wife! I gotta chuckle when you said you were kind of a smart ass....I am too - we are kindred spirits - sharing our birthdays and 'other' characteristics.

It sounds as if your day was grand and the meeting awesome. I call myself a weekend warrior as I go both days + play sober softball on Sundays. I've been to a variety of groups throughout the years and these are the ones I found my family with.

Grateful you are here my brother - thanks for sharing with us!
