Courage to Change reading for 7-24-2016

C2C reading for July 24 speaks about the 11th step. This is the Step where we pray for the knowledge of God's will and the power to carry it out.

The reading points out that doing God's will doesn't mean that we perform heroic acts . It can simply mean we can be smelling a rose or washing the car or cleaning the house. We must remember that HP loves us as we are and we must learn to love ourselves as well. When we do this we will then  believe that we are doing God's will.

The quote is from:"Toyohiko Kagawa:" God alone knows the secret plan of the things he will do for the world using my hand." What a powerful inspiring statement!

What a lovely thought  to meditate  on.  I will keep showing up one day at  a time  using alanon principles and praying for HP's will. What a gift

Good morning Betty - thank you for the daily and your ESH! I always appreciate your service here @ MIP and also will keep showing up one day at a time praying for God's will for me and the power and courage to carry it out. I went to the grocery store Friday, and there was a lovely older woman right behind me. I heard her speaking with the person behind her stating that she was 94 years old, and that her daughter who got into another line,, brings her to the store twice a week. I could tell by her cart that she most likely lived alone and she was genuinely a peaceful gal!

I unloaded my cart onto the conveyor belt, and then proceeded to ask if she would like my help unloading her items. She was pleasantly surprised and was so very grateful. She said that she was going to write about the act of kindness in her diary. It warmed my heart to be doing something so very simple for me that brightened her day. As I was driving home, I could not stop thinking what the diary of a 94 year old person would read like. I suspect there would be joy, happiness, sadness, loss, etc. but we're talking about the extensive wisdom and life experience of one who has certainly seen and experienced many, many things.

I believe I am called to be of service in small ways each day and when I am in the moment, I win. I can hear the subtle messages and I can take action in small ways that give me gratitude and make life easier for others. I am sure of one thing - I do not have insight into the master plan. But I can choose to be a part of the problem or a part of the solution. I prefer the latter and the program has given me the tools to live in the moment and just enjoy!

Make it a great day Betty - I am catching up around here a bit and watching some baseball! Softball tonight with some still very hot temperatures here! (((Hugs)))
