if things get better than this...

If things getting any better, I don't know what I am going to do. My sober AH is behaving himself more & more every day. I can almost count on him to be kind & thoughtful. He gives me roses often & still cooks for me every night. He makes the bed, mows the lawn & a whole lot of other things. He is now 74. I see him living a very long & healthy life. He quit drinking over 9 years ago. He quit smoking over 5 years ago. And, bless his heart he quit going to the casinos to gamble. He is a definite work in progress. God is good. He brought him to me over 17 years ago. I am no longer going to look back. Yeah, sometimes he is a down-right nasty man. He can change his tune in a split second.

Me, I am doing so well I could be a twin.

Thanks to all y'all & the program I can see the good in almost everything.

I wish this for all of you.

Kathleen

Aww, that's wonderful. Maybe he can teach my guy to do some of those things, LOL? My man is consistent and supportive and kind and grateful.....but roses are not in his repertoire. He did cook dinner the past 2 nights so I guess I can't complain.....
I'm kidding by the way....I love my man. So glad you are seeing a turning of things and that there is joy for you today.

(((Kathleen))) - what a lovely, lovely share.....so often I get melancholy about 'what ifs' or 'why me'.....but with posts like yours, and the program folks I keep close, those moments no longer haunt me for long. This program brings to me great honest realities - there is hope, love, support and miracles in recovery!

Kudos to you and your H for progress in recovery! Thanks for sharing what's working and good in your life!

PS - lemme know when dinner is - I'm game to come eat!!!
