Since moving out onto my own for the first time ever, I have the confidence to be worthy, whole and own my time and space. I am amazed at how my life has changed when I dragged my sad miserable carcass into my first meeting a few years ago. My sponsor loved me until I really learned how to love myself. I have set the bar higher and I am feeling more accomplished than ever before. I am now a college graduate and buying a house with my man and our children. We are blending our families and I am being treated the way I deserve. I know how to set boundaries and follow through with how to meet my own needs. Self care has been amazing for me and my step work has made me into a person worthy of the best. I no longer accept unacceptable behavior. Things are really starting to work out for me and fall into place, because I am doing the work and making the changes. I just wanted you all to know I have broken free and am a work in progress. This program works if you work it!!!! My life is not perfect, but is really coming together towards the life of my dreams!

I can sure relate t this; my life looks very, very different to the way it did 2 years ago. I've set the bar a lot higher too (towards the end of my pre-al-anon time, it was a good day if i managed to get out of bed) and it literally boggles my mind that I've achieved the things I have in that time.

OMG!!! You didn't tell me you guys are buying a house together?!! That's so freaking awesome. We are walking parallel paths, BF, as we are blending families over the summer, too. My bf sent me the sweetest text yesterday telling me he loved me and I love watching his girls get so excited every time my son and I come over. When we set up the bedroom together, he wanted to make sure it had my feminine touch. Love is different this time around is I know it is for you, as well. No more denial, no more ignoring MAJOR red flags, no more lack of boundaries......program has taught me communication skills, how to let go and let God, how to accept others right where they are at, and how to love myself above all else. SUPER big hugs to you today! Happy for you!

Breaking free: I am so glad you have broken free & are able to share all this w us. You are truly an inspiration & we all love you for who you have become. I know that I couldn't have grown w o the program & grown spirituality w o you all there is no other option & I am here to stay. I hope you keep coming on here & sharing your successes & recovery w us. I feel like that I need to share my ESH. Your story makes me feel I am able to do so.

Thank you for sharing this. I am happy for you . I also feel much of all you've said. Alanon has been a gift. I could never have dreamed this life I now live.X this person I have become has confidence, actual love to give people, the right love.I can accept love much more readily. I see nature and people much clearer, can see the beauty and that is worth all the pain. I would go through it all again to get the life I've got today. This journey has been amazing and my higher power has always been there for me but now I can feel it. I hope others who are in pain get here too. There is hope x
