Hope for today nov 24

Good morning everyone-

Today's reading is about being willing to do the work necessary in recovery.  It's about the willingness to ask for help and the willingness to take it.  This reading is about reaching out when one needs help, and about reaching out when someone else is in need. For me this makes me think about responsibility.  My responsibility to myself is to live my best life. At one time I was not doing that; then I started to pay attention here, at meetings, in readings and in work with my sponsor.  My life started to emerge and is still emerging!  I also feel that if someone confides in me about living with the chaos of alcoholism in their lives, I have a responsibility to make information available about where help can be found.

When I came to this program a few years ago I felt isolated, alone and anxious. People here reached out and let me know what might help, and after some time I no longer feel isolated and alone.  Anytime the old anxious comes back now I have noticed it's because I have listened on any level to the disease doing the talking.

I am grateful to be here working my recovery with support all around.  I hope everyone enjoys the day and the holiday ahead. I am thankful, every day!

Mary

Sometimes I don't reach out because there are so many people reaching in. I work,I volunteer and I have my own mess to deal with. Ceewi knows how to do it call her, email her..
I hate to "bother "people with my problems, they have it worse..And then I get in my head. .thus I insomnia .
I am going to work on reaching out or buy stock in a coffee company lol

Thank you Mary for sharing this powerful message of recovery . Being "willing" to ask for help or to reach out to those in need is huge.
Thanks to the principles of this program, I have been encouraged to let go of my negative defensive walls so as to embrace the alanon community and grow.
Love the message that says :"If you want to know HOW alanon works, simply use the letters in he word HOW". Be Honest, Open and Willing. I found that being  Willing is the Key

Thanks for your service and enjoy the day .
