Yes I really did that!!

and it felt sooo normal and usual.  I got a meeting tonight and can't wait.  What did I do?  A driver wasn't reading the signs and has poor information and a huge truck and in the process of denying me the right of way I honked my horn to get his attention.   I got the attention of all in the truck and heads popped out of windows looking back at me and the driver got on his brakes and intentionally (to me) slowed me down in traffic and then more so.  I get inquisitive at stuff like this so I followed him into a right turn and stop and asked him (no French) what was going on and did he even see me which is why I used the horn.  He was driving a huge dually Ford Pick up which was lifted and such and I couldn't see his intentions until he turned into my path.  Anyway my horn on my mighty Subaru Impreza nudged his belligerency button and out jumps the demons from all of them.   I read him the traffic logo of yielding the right of way and he wanted to be right (its a man thing).  Neither of us left our seats and I was done until he used the word stupid to describe me and that is when I found out again I can be had.  Prior to program I use to leave my vehicle and be at the door of the other vehicle stopped or moving to get business taken care of and I use to drive armed and the steps, slogans, traditions have change most of that.  I did and inventory past to present and turned it over to God who probably helped the guys put the pedal to the metal and get away from my tiny Impreza.  My emotions stayed flat.  My language was courteous, My intentions remained on what I had to do before this guy made his infringement and I was good.  Local guys just love to get scared and then they fight.   I know...I use to do that.  Gonna kekep practicing Letting Go and Letting God   (LG2)   Nothing to brag about grateful for the lessons.  (((hugs))) wink

Great honest post Dear Jerry. I am so pleased to see that HP was there and it did not escalate into a "free for all" ( which I am sure you would have been victorious)
Positive thoughts on the way.

ROFL......sorry - but I got a chuckle out of this. I am currently driving a Kia Rio5 (which is the smallest care I've seen with exception to those Smart things, which I refuse to acknowledge as a car)...

I am certain your program and HP kept you calm - driving is one area where I've had to do a ton of praying for patience and tolerance. I have concluded (finally, after 12 years) that since I'm retired, everyone else can 'get there faster'....I'm in no hurry. Yes - it has taken almost 12 years for me to see the light.

Defensive driving is the only reason I remain alive. It's gotten so much worse too with mobile devices in the hands of most people on the roads.

So glad you are safe and stayed calm! Thanks for the share Jerry!

Good work Jerry F! Thank you your honest ESH!! I find myself, sometimes getting
very impatient on the road to and from work. 40 minutes 2X a day behind people
doing 35mph on a 50mph route. I find looking at the beautiful clouds and the wonder
of nature along the road, etc. to bring me back to calm and serenity. It ain't easy!!

Good job responding and not reacting Jerry. Gotta watch those locals in dualies, I have them here, and have seen them on the Big Island as well. Manhood expressed by how many wheels, height of running boards, and volume of exhaust. They are especially infuriating to me the times that they have crossed me when riding a bicycle. So insecure, they have to prove their manhood with a particular finger to a bald old man riding a bicycle, that's pretty sad.

((((Brother))))

I Read it TWICE for the Chuckle... Boy are We more in Common then Ever Imagined... :) I too have tendency to do Such things, I haven't yet got OUT and had to Defend myself, but I have been the Horn Blower More then Once :/ and Most of the time it is My Fault due to the fact I allowed myself to run Behind on my Time :/ Glad to See I'm Not Alone :) and Very Glad to See you Stayed Put in the Vehicle...

We have One of those Dually Trucks for Work, and tho I Enjoy Driving it (Cause its a Clutch) I Do get Some Not So Friendly Looks when I'm In it... lol

And (((Kenny)))... I would Never Crowd you on the Road... But I May Be Upset if your Not Properly Visible...lol :)

I think since I Started Driving Harleys over 12 years ago, I have made myself A lot More Road Ready even when I'm In my Truck... Its a Scary Place to be out in the Mist of All the Crazies... And Lord Knows There are Plenty... And Who Knows... Maybe One Day Al-Anon Can Help me Be Removed from the 'Road Rager' Crowd as well :) After All... I am a Work In Progress :) And Grateful to be...

Glad All Ended Well Brother, and You was Man Enough to NOT Get out of the Car... :) Thanks for your Honesty and Clarity thru it all... Why I Just Love Me Some ((((JERRY))) ESH :)

Love & Hugs

Jozie

Jerry - you always make me smile! I'm so glad HP was in the drivers seat of your Subaru Steed and you could remain the Studly gentleman that you are by remembering the steps and taking inventory.

Maybe those local boys sped off to a meeting, huh? ;)
