Here I am back in beautiful California and very glad to be! Saying it was an adventure is only part of it .. lol. I did discover a few tricks .. if you ever want to sit with someone especially a child just ask loudly on a crowded plane if they can locate the air sick bag we don't want a repeat of the last time we flew .. LOL. It was manipulative .. it worked .. LOL. Amazing how quickly too. I tried asking if someone would switch .. soooo what can a mother do right?
I was exhausted and literally slept until 130pm my time .. not adjusted just yet and those poor kids were beat big time.
I can't see living here again however we'll see. I'm just trying to be open to whatever HP throws my way.
Other than that it's all good. Kids are having the time of their lives .. daughter and I went bathing suit shopping today .. ugh .. it was a success and we had a great time eating out for dinner tonight. My poor mom and her plans .. they just kind of get shot to hell. Not on purpose just is .. she's going to be very challenged having them both here .. you know it is what it is big time.
I'm just really trying not to speak to much because I am HALTing at the moment. Tomorrow will be easier I will have 24 hours behind me at that point.
I couldn't have done as well 3 years ago so this is such an improvement for me. Thank goodness for Alanon!!!

YaY - for all of you ... you have arrived! I chuckled outloud about the air sick bag! What a great suggestion.
So glad the first 24 hours went well and that everyone is having fun. Love the program tools I see in action and glad you are aware of your growth in the program.
My mother is very controlling and through my program work, even though it drives me crazy, I've come to understand it does come from her place of love. She works hard trying to control as she believes she's responsible for the 'fun' we have when we visit. I had to admit that I have a bit of that as well...
When company is coming, I run around, clean like crazy and make sure every room has what one would need. A bit of this is great as I feel a clean house tells folks they are welcome. However, when I am too exhausted to enjoy the company and experience, well - I've gone a bit over-board.
I have come to understand in program that so many actions of others I am powerless over are not intended to annoy me or upset me. They are certainly not malicious - they are just them being them and this gives me a bit of peace.
