C2C reading for April 18 talks about how much time was spent yearning for things that we were not getting from the people in our lives, including the alcoholic. As part of our recovery, it is suggested that we put all of these needs on paper. The reading noted that most of the important issues that we are missing in an alcoholic relationship is: courtesy, respect, attention, affection, communication and honesty.

Al-Anon points out that if we want to have all these positive attributes in our lives, we must be willing to give them in every instant, and to everyone in our life so that we can become what we want to attract.

Powerful thought and courageous actions. I'm so glad that I learned to practice this day by day in my Al-Anon meeting so that I could then bring it out into the world and see how well it worked. Putting principles above personalities and practicing these principles in all our affairs is a powerful recovery tool

.Before program I often thought that if I treated people rudely, with anger and disrespect that I was or powerful and controlled  people better. I was fearful that my kindness, gentleness, and compassion were defects the people took advantage of. Al-Anon taught me how to respond in all situations in a courteous, respectful manner, and I'm so truly grateful

As we grow, kinder, more loving towards other people. We will notice the people respond in kind and that we do get back what we give.

The quote is from in all our affairs. "Many of us find that we practice treating others fairly, with love and respect. We ourselves become magnets for love and respect.
Thanks for allowing me to share
