life is short, what are you waiting on?

Alanon has taught me that life is for living, not merely existing, not putting up with unacceptable behaviour and sitting stuck in self pity waiting for  a knight in shining armour to come and solve all my problems. The time for living my life is now, today. Taking pleasure and enjoying each day the best i can. I wasted almost 20 yrs existing, waiting on an alcoholic to get sober, like the walking dead. I had no right waiting, it was wrong for him and me.

I have the right, ability and courage to take my ljfe back into my own hands and live a happy life fully. Alanon taught me how to do it. I learned it. I plan on practicing the tools that keep me living. Thanks alanon people.x

I have the rest of my life ahead of me and it sure is daunting, but also exciting. I've read quite a few of your posts el-cee and every one is helpful. Each one has given me something. Thank you

You give me strength ((El-cee)). Thank you. This is a very special place and everyone is amazing in their support and insight. I have not felt up to writing for a very long time because I have been caught in the disease of codependency but I have kept you all in my heart and prayers and checked and read some posts when I can. You all keep me going and give me hope.
