what do you do when there is nothing to do?

Although I am walking in the rain today, I am wondering what y'all do when you have nothing in particular to do? Maybe I should dance in the rain???? I need to focus & really need some feedback & your opinions on what to do except get online? The floor is yours.

Kathleen

Hi Kathleen, when I have no plans for for a day ,I try to catch up on housework, meditate for an additional half an hour, increased my exercise by an additional 45 minutes , walk by the dog Park to  enjoy watching them play and take a bubble bath. If I have more time I climb into bed with a good book and read.

Walking the rain sounds like fun toaww

I read. If I'm honest with myself, it's pure escapism. There are other things I should be doing but not today. Today is for me

Hi Kathleen,

I potter - which I love. I end up doing exactly what I want to do without any time pressures or worry about what I am going to do next. Strangely I usually end up getting more done, and more enjoyment in the process, when I am pottering - I think that it is the unconscious banishment of anxiety and the granting of permission to just be that helps!

Oh I get excited with down time, I take the talk on a big walk, or get to the gym, or get a pedicure, or clean my house, or rake the yard, or do laundry, make a great dinner, read a book, catch up on homework, or just call some girl friends and have a lunch date. I love those moments just to be bored, but I am glad I keep myself busy also otherwise when I get bored I can do the stinking thinking thing, so I plan a lot of my time doing healthy hobbies when I actually get time. Sending you love and support!

I am SO bad a down time. But, lately, I plan my garden, and dream of ways to conquer the hillside of our rental house, without paying too much for the related supplies. (Should anyone need to learn how to downhill ski, I have a bunny hill here!)
