7 Days....

Without a cigarette!  Next month is my 56th birthday, my 25th sober anniversary, and the holidays... what better gift could I give myself than stop smoking which has been reducing my quality of life for the past few years?  Keep me in your prayers as this is so very important I do at this time.  Just 7 days and I can already feel the difference.

John

Congratulations for all your anniversaries. Im just over 2 years off cigarettes, im very proud of myself. Your past the first hurdle, the first few days are the worst, keep going, it gets to the point where youve went too far to go back now. Well done. Eventually, you cant stand the smell and the thought of smoking makes you feel sick.

Keep it up. I quit at 1 and a half years sober. It worked the same way basically as quitting drinking. Same basic tools. At about 3 weeks it is pretty much easy flying provided you are actually quitting for real and not using one of those vapor thingies or chewing gum. Those just prolong the cravings.

This is awesome :) congrats! My AH has recently taken up the habit of smoking. Makes me so sad...he says it helps him to "not drink as much" I'm not seeing the less drinking but it's not mine to worry over...

Praying for your continued strength!

In April I will have 20 years without a cigarette. It's hard to believe. I did a lot of concentrating on the negatives of smoking and that's what finally did it for me. Now I am one of those ex-smokers. Not a rude one, mind you, but I HATE the smell of cigarette smoke. Makes me sick to my stomach and gives me a headache. Watching my Mom suffer with COPD now, too. I am so glad I made it. It took me 3 tries. You can do it! It's worth it and so are you.

(((((((hugs)))))))))
