Let's try that again :-)

Well, another little house has come up, within my price-range. It just appeared on the local real estate website. Don't know if it's pet-friendly....fingers crossed...it's perfect so far from what i can see...I will go and check it out tomorrow and put in an application if so.

Otherwise it's going to have to be the flat, overpriced and small or not. There isn't anything else and yes, believe me I have looked under every stone. i'm resourceful, put that in my asset list. I've looked at every community noticeboard, website, newspaper, newsletter, I've asked at the community center, mentioned it to anyone and everyone, (I am a networker. There just hasn't been anything accomodation-wise come up). I did, however, sell cosmetics to classmates today, lol. The power of networking

Only one place in my town is actually advertising for staff. It's the bottleshop, LOL. So I applied. So by day I do drug and alcohol counselling classes and by night I might sell liquor to the townsfolk???? Good grief. I don't like the idea but a job is a job is a job just now, I'll take whatever I get. In my experience when I start looking for things like houses, work etc I go from having no options to having too many options and not knowing what to choose very rapidly. So, you know, whenever you are ready, universe, LOL. I'm ready for the whole "too many options" problem now....

MS M. I am happy to read that you are "keeping an open mind" as I have found that that has been a great asset in all my changes. I do believe that 80% of life is simply showing up, so keep on keeping on.

Prayers and positive thoughts across the miles.

I don't know if you'll get this job or not and the irony of it all made me laugh.

On a more serious note, I ditto Betty's wisdom shared with you. I'm also of the mind that what isn't here today can be here tomorrow. Nobody can predict the future and today, as I type this to you, there could be a person needing a roommate or a tenant that they hadn't been anticipating until a major change happened they hadn't anticipated and you just happen to be that person they're looking for now. They just don't know it yet.

biggrinLol.  Your clientele will be everywhere, everywhere!  But, it is a good start to building rapport with them in a neutral place like a bottle shop.  Putting AA brochures on the counter and the shelves might be good, too?  And then, of course, you'd want to put an equal number of Al-Anon brochures around for the folks who are coming in to get the stuff for their As because they don't want them to drive?

And cosmetics catalogues too...don't forget those...gosh I'll have to ask the manager to install some kind of brochure-display rack for me.

LOL!  I'm all for planning what one can do at a job we don't have yet!  Yes, of course!  A rack for all you need to display!  I'm sure the manager will see the need, too!

I wonder if I could also have a section to display the fairy gardens and stuff daughter and I are going to make for the market? And then there are my organic chocolates and stuff....liquorland might need to close for a week and do a complete re-fit before I start. I'm sure they won't mind.

Melly--That's so funny. Liquorland. Oh my goodness.

You are so buoyant--I don't know how anything ever held you down for a minute. I'd think it would be like trying to keep a beachball submerged.

Kenny--Very Good One!

Of course they won't mind!  This is YOU after all.  I'm sure the manager will get that right off!  Just be sure to say what you mean, mean what you say and don't say it mean.

LOL! Sounds like liquorland might be a full line department store in no time - you'll be giving David Jones a run for their money!

Paula, I could see about displaying some of those amazing paintings? People like buying art for their beach-houses.

Perhaps I should start taking stuff down there in the morning; that way when they decide to give me the job I will have everything there ready to go.

Daughter and I were planning a garage sale to get rid of old toys and clothing when we move, I wonder if a little second-hand stall would be OK...or do you think that might be a bit much?
There's plenty of room outside the store, buskers often set up there. There's probably room for a small marquis even.

It was a "she," Kenny. I know this because it wore a pink bikini and I think some sparkly sunglasses? Mel - maybe we can bring her back out for Kenny to see again? He might have forgotten just how feminine she is?

lol, I don't have her anymore. But she wasn't my creation, I think she belonged to MG or Andromeda...oh I feel bad now, who was it that created Ostrich with Bling?

Melly, that beautiful blingy ostrich was your creation, under your previous name, on 15th May. She made me so happy!

No, i copied her and put her in the pool with Liam Neeson, Johnny Depp and Tatum Channing, and a lilo lol. I didn't make her, or give her the bikini or the bling. Hopefully the creator will speak up

Well, then, thank you for the clarification on the fact that you truly, truly are not the creator! I do hope they'll speak up and show up, too!

Lol, what am I going to evangalise about?

Daughter is conveniently home with a cough today so we are rugging up warm and off to look at this house and hand out more resumes. (She's just probably too contagious to be at school, they ask you to keep them home with a cough. She's not really very unwell. And she WANTS to come. And she can stay warm in the car with her ipod mostly. lol, trying to justify taking my sick kid out house and job hunting...she's FINE I tell ya lol or I wouldn't be taking her...

Anyway I'll check in and let you knows what happens

Extremely small and not fenced and on a busy road. Not what I would call pet-friendly. The flat is probably a better bet than that. We went and looked at that again today. Its not THAT small and it's in a great spot. So, hmmmm. Anyway, tomorrow is another day...I think I have caught daughter's nasty, because my head feels like a brick. I need a nanna nap lol.

You've been making lots and lots of changes, Mel. Even positive changes are stressful, so I'm glad you're going to rest awhile. Hope this "nasty" is short lived.

It was my twisted humor coming out about the evangelism.  I saw you  " casting out the alcoholic sins", then you probably would get fired because business would suffer....oh here I go again with my head pictures.....anyway, you will be a bright light in the store if it works out.  It is a tale to be told if it doesbiggrin

Feel better!
