Sunday

Yesterday, I attended The. Most. Awkward baby shower ever, and came home to find my husband drunk.  I said nothing.  He still attempted to find a way to be angry at me and blame me for this failing disaster of a marriage, and proceeded to storm off to bed at 8pm.

Normally, I would be dumping bottles, or running to him to argue, or up crying and shattered.  Instead, last night, I chose something else.  I accepted that what he was saying was more about him than me.  I watched a show, cuddled with the dog, and went to sleep with no guilt or worry.

This morning, he left for work without saying good-bye.  Normally, this would also be painful.  Instead or saying anything or nagging- I found a meeting that starts at noon that I will go to.

I don't know that I exactly feel serene this morning, but I feel like I am getting closer, which is a good thing.

happy Sunday all!!!!

I am glad you learned that when an A give you an invitation to engage you did do not accept. That is huge! I mean why bother right?

It was nice you had  your dog be there with you. They really give the best love. hugs

Powerful example of staying out of a going nowhere interaction. That's working it. I hope the meeting helped? It's good to be with people who are there or have been there to share their experience, strength and hope using Al-Anon tools that have worked for them. I'm so glad you did that for yourself.

I'm so happy you did just the thing you needed to do. That's what I call detachment big time. Just wait until he realizes what is happening to you and starts the asking about it. Then the real serenity will come little by little because of your actions. Motives for why I did something is second nature now. I don't do ANYTHING without stopping and checking my motives.

((( hugs )))
